By a European Organization that studies Computer viruses, they made a file that all anti-virus programs should detect.

Step 1:Open Note pad and paste this text. Its completely harmless btw.

Step 2:GO to File, Save as and as the File type choose All Files.Then save is as Eicar.com.

Step 3:If your anti-virus program detects the file ans stops it from saving or either opening you anti-virus program is good.

Now to see if it can stop you from downloading viruses.Eicar.txt Download that file and try to rename it as eicar.com

Try downloading the file directly. eicar.com

Try to unzip it.
Eicar.zip

Test your virus detection in emails. Go to Email Sender to send a test email that contains eicar.com.

If your Anti-Virus program is good, it'll stop your from unzippping, downloaded, creating, or being sent by email.
