Hey doing homework and need a tech question answered
I'm in a computer networking class and workin on homework here is the question..
Explain in detail what the PING utility does? i may post a few more if i cant find them...

In multiplayer online video games, ping refers to the network latency between a player's computer, called a client, and the game server (or another client). This could be reported quantitatively as an averaged time in milliseconds, or qualitatively as low ping or high ping.

Ping can be reffered to as the connection streingth based on distance. If you live in NY and connect to a server in china
chances are your ping is going to be around 350 and you are going to have a slow response. But if you connect to a server in NY your ping may be around 30 and you will have pretty fast response. This is just my example on how ping works.
