Lack Of Moderators

I can clearly see the difference between a room with mods and one without them. If I were to choose between the rooms, I would chose the room with mods, not just because of the mod fights, but because spam is an utter annoyance and causes lag.

I have been informed that two of the mods are leaving, and that one is considering quitting. Since, If my calculations are correct, there are 4 mods left, This means they are spread awfully thin over the course of a day.

What I am saying is it seems like there is frequently no mods in Chat.If any of you have noticed this as well, please reply to this thread.

I have noticed. You may not be surprised to know that they have a hidden feature, so they may be around, but nobody knows it. A flaw there is that people may think the hidden mods are there, but really, we are mod-less! Not to mention, a lot of the time, the mods that ARE there, are often busy doing something else :-/ This could prove to be an issue when such a deserting occurs.

You wouldn't need to know, but it helps out alot.

we can listen to other rooms.
we can't play from the hiding feature O_O.
and... there's one more, but you shouldn't know :)


and yes, we do need mods, for there are like only 5 that get online..

Actually I think that Sketchz is probably one of the only ones that is VERRYY active...He kicks a lot of people.. But I do agree we do need more mods. There an increase of players which can only be matched with more mods not mods quitting.

[06/30/07] Vacation

This may sound weird to some of you, but even administrators take breaks sometimes. :P

Starting Monday July 2nd I will be gone for a duration of 3 weeks. I will be back around July 23rd. Be good while I'm gone. ;)

Ack and JP will be watching over you guys while I'm gone, so don't think that now is the time to misbehave. The moderators will still be around to do their job. That being said I wish all of you a very happy summer.

The mods we have are great when they're around, but when they're not around Blank should beef up the server's not-ok list and have it count how many posts of the exact same thing someone posts. If 5 messages in the same hour are posted by the same person that are exactly the same, that person should be kicked for spamming. They shouldn't be able to get back in for another hour or so, eh stuff like that. Flood control also would be better, and it could be done client side. 3 to 5 seconds between each message would cut down on spam (ok i stole the idea from another post in suggestions but its a good thing, I like it a lot), and lastly some form of user decided moderation. Maybe whenever someone reports another person for whatever reason (swearing, spamming etc) a number should appear by their name on the list. When that number reaches 5, they are automatically booted out of the room. It wouldn't be like a votekick, and there wouldn't be endless messages coming from the server, just a number of times someone has been /reported. Kinda like in inklink where the boot picture goes by your name and if you got 3 boots you are kicked.

I'm glad the moderators are here, but when they aren't good server moderation is the best option we have other than adding more mods.

I agree with the original post, I can clearly see the difference between a room without mods and a room with one. I could report people all day long, and I report some people sometimes. I can easily find people that are saying major cuss words and a bunch of it. I would happily volunteer to be a mod, tho I will not say that I want to be one. I play pawn almost all day long.

Usually when I go on, I see people swearing and spamming and there is not a mod around to do something.

But I do think the hide feature is good because some people won't break the rules when mods are on. They will only when there is none on, so they can't get in trouble.

Since the increase in members(I was a beta, so its a big change) there have been more people breaking the rules. And since the chatrooms are filled with people and there are only 1 or no mods on, its hard to run things.

I miss the old days when pawn was rule breaker free, when the chatrooms barely had over 20 people and there were about 20 or so games total that were playing. Now its just turning into stick arena and runescape.

But pawn is still BY FAR the most funniest game online so far, and i will continue to play until it gets out of control

Why don't you all quit complaining, and just wait for Blank to do what he wants. Your complaints do absolutely nothing to help the situation, and only make Blank want to do it less. This is HIS game he will do what HE wants. If you can't accept that, go somewhere else.

Blank is on vacation at the moment, don't expect anything to be done about the mod situation until he gets back. In the meantime, just try to enjoy the game, and quit crying about all the problems. If you think this game has so many problems, then why don't you go check out another game.

lemme guess.... last feature in hidden mode is "ignore pawn player in trouble" :\



i don't think you "have to" be in hidden mode to achieve that other stuff....im saure blank can make you do those things even without invisible mode. (btw you should not see other people's pms..... thats privacy you know)

to be honest the real and truthful reason we need mods is bcuz of spam.... spam sucks... spam sucks realy bad... so there should be an updat that you cant copy and paste on pawn (not including forums only game) and you have a stricter limit on how much you can type after you already typed For example: 1 second beetween each type and if you break this rull you will be muted for 25 seconds.... this is when spammers get more serious and start downloading tools to spam or advertise... (kinda like in rs) so they macro but since you cant hack in pawn everything will be fine... so this would be a huge update and it will cause us not to have so many mods and stick with the ones we have now....
