Reboot Wont Finish (Help)

When I finish a Counterspy scan it tells me to reboot the system for it to fully work and yada yada yada. So it does a different start up and it does this scan instead of just starting up but the problem is, it never finishes!

This is what it looks like just sitting like that for hours trying to clean up.

Note that I did not do anything. It did all that by itself.
So it will just sit there saying "Cleaning up. . . ." and it will never finish.

So umm, what's wrong and how do I fix it?

When it pops up cancle the scan, go and get spybot SD (spybot search and destroy) run it. :D

if it keeps doing the scan thing, chunk counterspy :P

I do cancel the scan. But see how it says spyware may be left on the computer? Well one time it did leave spyware and I had this big warning on my computer.

Well nothing will come up for me. Just goes to a blank gray screen.

And no, waiting for HWV to tell me if I should delete Counterspy before getting it.

I'm using Firefox, what else.

Spybot Search and Destroy will not affect Counterspy. Just go ahead and try to download it.

.. The fact that it seems like you're unable to download anything relating to malware removal and the like is a bit odd. There are forms of malware, like some variations of Antivirus 2009, that limit (or deny) your access to sites that could potentially remove it.

However, let's try two more things:


Try to download one of the programs in Internet Explorer.
And two, try to download something - anything really, as long as it's not pertaining to viruses and whatnot. Just see if you can get the download started.

EDIT: I just finished a S&D scan and a scan on this Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program Arab told me to download and cleaned a bunch of crap.

I took me and DaMans convo on this thread to MSN, where we managed to get him to download Spybot. It found several infections, including Rapid Antivirus. D:

Well I didn't buy Rapid Antivirus. It was when the comp was in a frenzy of telling me to buy all these programs. It did a free scan on that program probably but I didn't dl or buy it.
Spybot got rid of it anyway. All the tests I did today had no results. Unless yesterday were each had like 40.
