I'm practicing making websites, and I'm editing a free template now, and I wish to use images from the websites
www.pawngame.com/
and www.pawnstudios.com/

If I say "These images belong to the owners of http://pawngame.com/ and http://pawnstudios.com/ , and have them linked to the website, would I still be infringing on a copyright, or do I need express consent from an admin to use images?
I did not see where it says that I do, but I might have missed it.

I know, a PA asking for help LOL xD

If you do even the smallest part of copyright, yes you can get in trouble for it. But, I bet no one would hardley even notice.

I do not see anywhere where it says requirements to sue the images are express consent from the admins, but either way I have to give credits, which I will.

I'm just wondering if they require admins consent for me using, or just me giving credits and a link to who owns them.

Probably not, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't care if you used them as long as you provided sources for the images.

Just go ahead and do it. I am sure they won't care, but just in case they find out, just explain the misunderstandings.

Well if your testing websites for temporary templates im sure its fine and you wont get in any trouble for it. Now if its perminant then I am not sure.

There's the optimism, "Break the law, but when you get caught try to squirm your way out of a lawsuit!"

It will be frequently updated, I'm gonna have a page for games I like, and pawn will be on there lol.

you wont get in any trouble as long as you give props to where you got the images :D

Yes, but a lot of websites have a copyright type that you need direct permission from the owner.

I don't think they would mind. You arn't really using them for total benifical perposes. They shouldn't.....Just do it.

Or ask a mod/admin/turkey on irc.

Just query him on IRC

/query Blank101
'May I use images from PG and PawnStudios if I link them back to the original sites and refer to you in a statement below them?'

I would have to question it's illegality..
I mean, is TheLife earning money by using these images?
Is blank101 LOSING money?

If anything, you're MAKING money for him!
You'd be practically advertising for pawngame and pawnstudios.

Even if it's not illegal, not saying it isn't, I'd still link to and give full credit to pawngame.com.
If Blank101 or JP wouldn't want this, you could always remove these images.

No..
You can do what I did.

All site content is copyrighted to PawnGame.com

Just change it to All game content.

From what I've seen and observed from the few conversations with Blank, I can safely say they would not give a damn, especially since it's just a test site.
