If you can, go to your library, and look for books by O'Reilly.
I found them dead useful.

Edit: O'reilly is a publishing company, not an author

Thanks

Does this look right?

Most people go into a 1v.1 game with the same state of mind as in going to a 5v5, they should not. Here are some tips on a 1v1 game

__________________________________________________ ______________________________________

Remember you do not have team mates the person is aiming only for you

Keep under cover as much as possible

Find out where they are - If you have a obstacle in front of you and you cant see beyond in or believe an opponent is in a foreground hiding, jump up once and then stay down, repeat after a random amount of time. This should draw your opponents fire and you will know where they are. (Note) This is risky, if they're a good shot you might hurt yourself. Also when you die, don't respawn right away, you might be able to see where you opponent hides.

Do not form patterns - Be sure to not go in the same room, same hiding place and do the same moves. They might not catch on, but most likely they will.

Be cautious - If there is a foreground hiding spot shoot at least 3 times around where their head should be. This doesn't always work, but 80% of the time is does, or they will shoot back most likely sporadically before they can get a clear shot of your head.

Keep moving - If you stay in one spot you die. Many times has a person camped me, only for me to come at them from another angle and head shot them.

Keep 3 KC - The pistol is a good weapon and you don't need the MAC. Keep coins to get a refill in maps that you can. Surprise them by being in full health. In quick draw, don't bother for obvious reasons.

Fall - Of ladders, of landings by falling of a higher area you move while leaving youself the ability to shoot. Remember odds are you'll get one good shot.

Weapons selection
This is a key component in any match and the rules stay for a 1v1
The key factor is firepower.
My suggestions-
Eagle(Also recommended by Ureonmyhitlist)
L85
Benelli
After that there isn't much choice since 1v1 tends to only go to 25.

SMGs - Try to keep away from these weapons, they're fast but require alot of shot to kill one person.

Autos - The L85 is the best weapon from this selection due to its powerful shot. Other weapons are good due to strength plus ammunition.

Shotguns - The "infamous" noob weapon, very useful in a 1v1. Although who ever your playing will most likely claim you are a noob.

Camping in 1v1
Don't do it. Hide for one kill maybe but don't camp. Not only do you form a pattern your opponent can identify, you make the game play unfun.

Being camped in 1v1.
You know where they are, kill 'em. If you can come in from another angle where they wont expect you.

Best maps for a 1v1
-Quick draw
-Lights out
(This are the norm, after all a 1v1 can occur on any map)

Easiest way to win
Keep them guessing, do the unthinkable. When you have 3 find the nearest refill point even if you still have 80 hp, do it while you can.

Sometimes your opponent will call 1337, this is what they mean.
Rules in a 1337 game.
-no UMP, shot gun's, p90.
-no refilling during combat.
-no complaing.
-no camping.

__________________________________________________ _______________________________________

Thats the basics to a one on one match. Most of these work only for one on one situations.

And remember dont camp in a one on one, it ruins the game, and prohibits growth as a player to both parties.

Remember you only get better by playing a better opponent. Seek them out. Maps labeled "Noobs only" is a good place to look for good players, not kidding

(My thinks to Ureonmyhitlist for the help)

Few things.

1.) I'm assuming you have the standard
,
, and
tags? D:

2.) Put html codes inside BBCode tags: [code] makes it easier for us to see.

otherwise, I suggest learning CSS as well

If you want to code a guide, I can do it for you, for free.
Just send the link, I'll just post it in the Guide Discussion.
