I made this thread before, but I couldn't find it to bump it. So here it is, again.
So, just out of curiosity, how many of you are musicians? Please vote on the poll. (If it's not up yet, I'm still creating it)
I play the drums, and I'm learning the guitar. I want to learn the bass later, once I'm efficient in the guitar. I play mostly metal music, double pedals, etc... For the guitar I'm not very good with metal. Still learning about Drop D and Drop C. O:
Discuss.

By played, do you mean you quit learning, or what?

I have a drum set but it sucks so much that anything I play would sound crappy.
Also I never took lessons so I probably can't do much.
I wanna learn guitar one day. Might be fun if I can get good at it.
I played the drums....But then got a bit bored....I can still play them pritty well though.

I totally plays teh synth! Just kidding!
I play guitar (of course). Currently working on 8-finger tapping stuffs, but I still need to find some good 8-finger tapping licks to learn. Right now I just have a few licks I made up, and can tap part of Digital Love.
I can also play bass. People'll tell you its harder than guitar, but its really not. Just larger finger stretches, which are easy to get used to.
I suck at drums. I can play about 4 or 5 rhythms on the drums and that's it. But I don't own a drumset, so of course I suck.
I like metal, punk, rock, funk, jazz, etc. But mainly play Metal in my spare time. In my band we play some metal, rock, and funk, with only one punk song (our drummer wants to do more though so when he gets back after the holidays I'm gonna see if me and him can get a good punk song written, though my bassist will try to pop and slap in it and we'll have to be all "No pop and slapping in punk!")
Btw Bal, don't bother with the Drop C and Drop D tunings. One or two songs in drop D everynow in then sounds ok, but when people just play in that there songs begin to get generic and sounding loose a lot. If you want a lower tuning buy a 7 string (tuning will be BEADGBE). Its better because you won't have to tune down so much, and you won't screw up your guitar's intonation.

Ahh, but Drop D has a lot of emo chords. D:
I can't remember the chord names at all...
It's like twenty different names for the same chord. Too confusing.

Emo music sucks anyway...
Unless by emo you mean the original "emotionally charged hardcore punk rock" stuff that it was in the beginning (like Fugazi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzC0RNkBXM0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kowaXbjsXCo), before all the depressed cutters joined in and ruined it.

I've actually been thinking about getting a synth pedal to make my guitar sound like a synth.
