On the computer in my room, my IP starts with a 66.*.*.* (Covered the other numbers up, but the first numbers are more important.)

Then, on the computer in the office, my IP starts with a 98.*.*.*

Why does it change so much? Only the last numbers are supposed to change, and only slightly...

And please don't post if you're an idiot saying, "I don't know use google".

Use it for me.

I'm assuming your computers are on the same router, correct?

Yeah. They're connected through wireless...

If they're connected through wireless, try actually plugging both of them into the router and see if anything changes. Usually the IP should be the same for both as it is same for all (such as mine).

No, my room is next to the laundry room, which is next to the office. There's maybe 2 meters between the computers.

It could be the neighbour's wireless network, but I doubt that because they are usually password protected.

Do you have a dynamic IP address configuration?

Yes, check if you are connected to your OWN wireless network not somebody's elses. This is probably what's causing it but i'm not sure. Just check the wireless connection name for both, if they're different, then figure out which one is yours and use that one. Check of the connections of them are fairly same.. say if you get excellent on one and fair on the other. This probably means that the fair one is not the one closest to you and not yours. Hope it helps.

First thing that came to my mind was a keylogger. I'd suggest Go ahead and scan your pc like alvand said, rather be safe then sorry.

Did you set the computers up on the network?
If so, tell me what you did.
