steam is a program which you log onto.

it saves any games you buy online onto its database

so if you change computer you just download them again.

it only works with games that are made by valve such as team fortress 2 , half life 2 etc.

easy place to download videos , trailers and demos for other games and frequently updates it

it also has a community database where you can keep track with your friends (thats what we're doing right now)

it is really handy
you can download it if you want (left hand side)
