Iv just got a new alienware computer & have the fastest internet you can buy in England, yet why am i always 250+ ms when playing pawn, i don't understand why it's always so high and causing me to lag.
Iv cleared my Java caches & internet caches, but to no effect.
I don't know if it's because i live far from the server or what.
Don't kno what to do, is there anything else i need to be doing?

I have McAfee Total Protection 2008, and the new Alienware computer is one day old, having a virus is highly unlikely but thanks for trying :( I don't know why im getting so high MS

if there is Verizon out there
switch to FIOS, its the fastest ever
you should lower ur quality, close all other windows, and mess around with your internet, then or sux2bu

Nope can't get that in England, and i normally play with everything closed apart from Pawngame.
So i guess il just have to play with lag 24/7 :S
Most people say it's the computer it's probably your Router/Modem, just to make sure just reset the Router/Modem and it should be better.

yea you need a wireless router, that has the modem AND router in it, its better,
Crazy theory but maybe if you're computer is enhancing your gameplay, allowing it to reach its full extent, then it's possible that it's enhancing the ads on the page; with all of that working together, it could cause the lag in the game.
I'll look more into this...
But seriously, I'm just spitballing, xD, don't flame.

This answer is coming from a Tech Team member:
The reason why your M.S. is so high is not because your computer lags. The reasons why your M.S. is at 250 could be these:
1. Your connection is not very good (doubt it)
2. You live far away from Pawn's Server (I believe this is the answer)
Pawn's Server is in the United States. Your computer would have to go across the Atlantic Ocean to connect to it. Now we all know that's quite a far distance...
There is not much you can do about it except for moving to the United States or Canada. Please know that 250ms is only 1/4 of a second.

Try checking your connection, 250 isn't that bad that is about what I average, and maybe it's just England.

Yeah, that's a really useless post. If you agree with him, don't post that. >.>
FPS and MS might be useful if you are in a glitch or you think somebody is hacking, it makes the screenshots higher quality.

Doesn't it also matter what kind of flash player you're using? If so get the latest one.

run a cable to assassinators house and you will have 1 msp and 1 billion fps

I'm tired of people freaking resorting to the virus crap. The comp is brand new. To me, saying someone has a virus most of the time is a cop out solution that usually makes you look stupid, so don't do it.
BTW, the proper term is malware.
Back on topic: Your milliseconds are directly affected by distance, so that is it.
