I like it more for the education than for the socializing. It won't matter what friends I had in high school when I'm an adult.
If I didn't have school I would be bored out of my mind after a while lol. Not learning anything and seeing friends only once a week is torture.

Seriously, School is mind numbing for me, because I pretty much know everything.

On the other hand, I don't get stalked 24/7 while being at school, so it's all good.

I hate it. I like seeing the few of my friends that are in my classes, but the friends I ahve that I really wanted classes with I don't have any classes with. I didn't even get the electives I picked :(

And, for some reason the person who made up my schedule decided, "I'm going to ignore that this kid has a 3.75 gpa, pass all his freshman class, and is taking honours geomotry this year, and I'm going to ignore all the electives he picked and put him in random classes and make his last period class be all Freshman." Freshman are loud, and annoying. And if I get a response telling me "You were a freshman once," then whoever sends that is retarded. I was a freshman and I still hated how loud and annoying most freshman were. My last period teacher has even said sorry to me because I can't get switched out of that class so I'm stuck with some of the loudest, most annoying freshman that just don't understand that when the teachers says to shut up, you shut up or else you have a bad time, and when they **** the teacher off, the teacher has no real choice other than making the entire class suffer. There's only 3 or 4 people in that class I can stand, the rest are so damn stupid they can't even sit still for 10 minutes. I'm damn glad that the freshman don't like me. One turns to me before class and says, "Starting at 1:20, start dropping your pencil every 10 minutes."

Actually, the people who put together our schedules screwed my brother and I over. I havea freshman class, and he has a "Tech Systems" class which is pretty much woodshop. It sucks for him because he can't switch it out and he didn't take the class you're REQUIRED to take before taking tech systems, so he doesn't know how to draft or do anything. I also have tech systems, but with a different teacher.

My english class is a joke, we don't study for the finals / mids. All they give us is a 250 word comprehension and people still fail!

But my arabic class is like O_O
We had to study three books last year, this year, as an assignment i have to translate a 1000 word essay into english :(

Chem is also a joke, they just ask us to name the families and periods and a few T/Fs about atoms.

i think school is just a big pool of teenagers, over paid teachers with a teacher union (and if Mcain puts a cap on property taxes, it also caps teachers pay), and the teachers union is too powerful to stop now, i had one teacher in my 3rd grade, who was like 65, and thought I had ADD, because i didnt pay attention in school, my dad told her, "umm well lets see... is he bord?" i dont think any kid would like school 100% of the way

school lunches "supposedly" have gotten healthy-er but once i saw that thing on the news that my school would get better in health on lunches, they simply cut down on all the portions on our meals by about 50 percent, they took away corn (which is mostly starch, and it is an energy giver), they also took away most potato products (another starch, that i usually buy to give me energy), and they also cut off all wheat bread and peanut butter products (their excuses were that kids are alergetic to peanut products, well thats ok, but peanut butter is good in protein). they took out most beef things such as sirloin, and the New York Strip Steak, which is a REALLY good cut of meat, and they replaced them with a turkey substitute that consisted of 40% soy (I read the menu when it said "turkey substitute") they replaced mayo with some other kind of sauce (dont buy it), and the last thing that really made my parents mad was that they jacked up the prices another 2 dollars aside from the already high 2.50, so basicly they didnt do nothing but cut out money they didnt want to spend.

teachers, teachers pay, and the teachers union, have gotten way to much and powerful, the quality of teaching I got back in 9th grade totally kicked 10th grades new way of it's own arse. the average student count from teacher/students went from 1 teacher per/ 20-24 students, up to 30+ students per teacher

the extra curicular activities that were once supported minimumly, disapeared, the sport of swimming, and golf were cut out and fell victim to the budget cuts, saving the school about 100,000$ which was added to the teachers pay (after observing the 2008 budget)

the main budget of the school system for my area was over 43,000,000 dollars, 37,000,000 was spent towards teachers pay, 100,000 was put towards buses, fuel, minimum matenance, and no new buses were purchased, and 5/20 buses were sold, leaving over 400 students without the ride home they get, and where I live, winter lasts a long, cold, and harsh time, I remember one person slipped and shoved a disc in his back, stopping him from walking for about 4 months, and also suffered from a concusion, the school was not held responsible for the accident even though the person was only 10ft from the school campus line, and the rest of the money was put in the "other" catagory.

Lockers are horribly up kept as many of them are not cleaned out from the losers from last year, who are too lazy to clean it out, and the janitors or locker people dont give a flyin rats arse to do anything about it (we had one locker we stuffed all the papers you didnt want in it, then the new person who got it, it all came out like a breaking dam, one kid started a fire, but them he stompted it out 3 seconds later)

the girls are too un trust worthy, as many of them get you laid, then cheat on you, most relationships only last about 3 weeks, the girls dress almost like prostitutes and are totally self consious about everything, let alone their grades

the high school system is also very bad because you want to get into a good college, which means you have to give up on your life and friends to get by, and the colleges are so picky, they only choose the top clases, and students, and what ever kids they cant get to the college thats better than they are, they go for the next best thing, and scholarships are the most dingy things ever, the only get about 1000 to 3500 and the colleges tuition is rediculous, and the colleges want a 5% price hike EVERY year, which makes it extremely hard for the poor people to get anywhere other than a high school deploma.

homework is basicly, "school at home" its really "what ever i dont teach you, goes home with you" which is not the best, teachers would just sit their, ATTEMPT to tell you how to do a trigynunnometroynoun thing what ever, and then send you home with the lesson, if you dont get it, and if you dont have a parent that has knowledge of what you are learning (thank god I do) then you are basicly screwed, but the teacher chooses like everyday, "do i wana grade it? or do i just wana see pencil on your paper?"

and all the bullies that hate you, and they didnt grow up like everyone else in middle school who eventually will become losers in life, all i can tell them is to "stfu, i dont care what you say, grow up you stupid kid" one kid told me that i take it up my arse, i told him to grow up, and he pulled a knife on me, and I sprayed him with pepper spray (you must be prepared with a non lethal weapon, otherwise you might aswell crap your pants) he went to the principal that I sprayed him for no reason, well i told him that he pulled a knife on me (he got expelled)
