Uhhhhh.

Well NVIDEA is a brand of graphics card.

They have different models, and those models are built for certain things.

I think there most powerful card out is the 9800.

Nvidia*s ridiculously priced $600 GTX280 is their best card...but it's not the best card on the market. ATI's 4870x2 destroyed it in benchmarks and on top of that, it is $200 less than it.

It was probably like a 4200.

You would never be able to get a 9800 or a GTX280 for 40 bucks.

NO NO NO don't get anything from nVidia unless you plan on throwing it out a couple months later..
Get ATI radeon!
Sapphire HD ftw
A high model number means nothing. I have a geforce 6600 in meh AGP slot, and it crashes quite often....whereas something like a 6400 would not!
It all depends on what you play with your display adapter
Also, and very importantly, if you plan on getting a high-end graphics processor, make sure you have a good power supply that can support it.
Generic power supplies will frustrate you as they will cause restarts and freezes.

If you're referring to the GeForce 6600 that I have, keep looking, don't get it. Get something like the ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 2900 Pro, which isn't bad. It's a 512mb if I'm not wrong. But make sure you have a decent power supply first!
You can get it most places that sell computer hardware such as future shop or teh source.

You so don't have a 9800.

If you did you would know what the hell you were talking about.

Also, there are like 5 different models in the 9 series...and the new 9800GTX+

@ brokenglass a 6600 will do you nothing..newer series=higher numbers=better performance

9800? how General.

I prefer 3x GTX280s liquid cooled with oc'ed on a 790i nforce ultra (the space betwee all pcie express slots are too small, so they overheat too often. Cards tend to throttle down performance because of the amount of heat in the GPU (graphics processing unit) so you want a liquid cooled cpu. (from nvidia)

No seriously, these ARE the most powerful, better than 2x 4870x2s, they give better benchmark performance and better... well everything.

but that would cost about 1200$ for just the video cards.

I only have a modest 9800gtx on a p35 oced to 738/1698/2200 (the mem is NOT oced due to a risk of memory faliure, and remember to overclock the fan/cooling unit or you'll be sorry and the gpu will overheat and die.)

sorry, doublereply.

Why would you want to throw it out a couple months later?

High numbere'd models bring better performance, or worse depending on the GPU specifications, memory amount, memory interface, and a wide variety of things.

Big numbers mean more when you're talking about core clock, shader clock, memory clock, memory interface, memory amount, memory type, (ddr1/2/3/4/5) etc.

Powersupplies don't have to be amazing, like those 1800w ones from in win. 1 high end graphics card with an average computer will need only around 600w.

EDIT: Kuma War doesn't take alot of graphics. Actually intel integrated graphics could run it. I just found out......

If you want good graphics look at crysis and upcoming, Far Cry 2.
