okay.
my computer has been going slower than usual today.
could i possibly have a virus?
and if i do, how do i know.
and also if i do, how can i get rid of it.
i have cleared my cache and everything.
but it's still running slow.
i tried restarting, and it's still slow.
so if anyone can help out, it would be much appreciated by me.
Thanks.

Maybe if you give it a break...
Run a scan.
What type of security do you have?
1. Delete ANY bulk programs that you don't need that could be slowing your computer down.
2. Try and find a free virus scanner like the one's mentioned in this post: http://pawngame.com/forum/showpost.php?p=468160&postcount=5
Hope that helps.

i really don't know what kind.
How do you not know what type of security you have?

There's no shortcut on your desktop or tray showing your antivirus?
Click Start -> Programs and look for a name that looks remotely like it's some sort of antivirus software.
Once you find it, run a scan.

Windows Defender is a AntiSpyware program that Microsoft has released to Windows due to the amount of computers that get infected with spyware and malware each year. It isn't enough to protect your computer.. -_-
As someone said in the previous posts, get Avast!
Avast! is a antivirus WITH Antispyware that scans for viruses, trojans, spyware, malware, worms, etc. It was a really good detection rate and it is really easy to delete a virus with it. Trust me, Avast! saved me $400.00 from repairing my family's computers..
Norton - $80.00 <--- CRAP!
Avast! - FREE!! <--- Best Antivirus, personally, in the world.
You get to pick. Download link is below.

1) Download a REALLY good Virus Scanner. Please, don't download free ones, they suck. If you want a good one, you'll need to buy one. (Mcafee, AVG Version 8.0)
2) I do this all the time. Internet Options > Delete.. > Delete All... > Check the Box. It deletes Cookies, Temp Files, Viewing History, Etc.
3) Don't visit and sites that may look a little edgy, don't download anything that comes from an unknown site.

Lmfao. That made my day.
1. Avast is the best free antivirus on the internet (well besides Kaspersky)
2.Get firefox. Firefox automatically deletes your temporary internet files each time you close the program.
3. If you have FF, get a add on called WOT. Its like McAfee site advisor but like x2 better.
<_<
I have a program called AVG. Although it costs money. It works well for virus protection. DO IT!
Also zone alarm works well.

Lol if you still haven't solved it.
You probably need to buy some virus protection.
I personally use Norton Anti Virus.
Its pretty cheap, and is avalible at your local best buy, or other technology stores.
