Any questions ill be glad to answer i know a bunch about speakers.
But im debating sealed vs ported. I think ported would be great for me. Even the box i have right now is ported im not satisfied. Im going to probably get ported and build it myself most likely since a ported box is like 170 bucks THATS OUTRAGEOUS when i can build it myself for like 30-50
So we will see. C'mon talk a bit! this is very interesting. and i won't bite :p
Box for sale? lol jk but i rly am selling it i want that new box!
Ohh right specs what am i thinking.

Well, I predict that this discussion is going to be filled with epic fail.
Capacitors are useless. If you're having issues with power dips, get another battery.
I also recomend having something to keep the camera steady and not using flash, your pictures are revolting :D

Um is your amp 4 or 2 channel?

Lol ur face is an epic fail
But its only to keep the power steady thats why the capacitor is for, when i have more money (or my other one fails on me) ill buy me a good one for about 180 which will keep everything great a capacitor shoudl be like 40 bucks 2 farad not that bad i won't go over 50 cuz yea its a rip if it is....lol
ohh yea it was a quick shot i didn't want to be all perfect
and you like my little switch i threw that in for extra ;D
Um is your amp 4 or 2 channel?
its a 2 channel amp but...i can run it in mono amp mode meaning i bridge my speakers and i can put out all the RMS into both my speakers (sharing it in half of coursE) and making my speakers go through full potential)

That's the problem. The power fluctuations are way over what a 2 farad capacitor is going to be able to put out, even if the capacitor seems powerful. A car battery is hundreds of farads at a fraction of the price. Just a little more difficult to install.

lol you have no clue about sound system do you?
Every 500 watts is .5 farads, i have a 2k watt amp (this is the only tiem you will ever use a peak watts on a amp) so theres 4 500 watts in 2k so divide 4 by 2 and bam! 2 farads to main tain my light easy if you didn't know that haha. Trust me i would know this is my hobby.

Yeah, I know a lot about car audio systems, and audio systems in general. Farads are a bit more complicated than that, for a direct watt to farad relation. Use a battery, they're cheaper and more relyable. Also, your amp will never go up to 2k watts, that's 166 amps. Unless you have 200 amp fuses and 0 gauge cable running all over your car, it's never going to happen.

Yea i know that, peak is only for 1/12 of a second if your lucky
Its all about rms yes i know
But when it comes to capacitors and being poor and peak power on amp this is the only time it will apply
But yes you can ration farads to watts, 500 for .5 farads
Thats how it goes ;)
Some people say every 500 wattss to 1 farad but thats just way to much. Its not going to give me power thats not what i want i just want to get rid of the dimming when im bumping.
I love this discussion :) something im truly passionate about

Lol i've been driving since 14
had my car at 15
Im now 17 :)
lol
infinint you have your warning no swearing
and Lawl of course compare 6 12's to 1 18 theres still a huge difference, i can't produce anything lower than 18 HZ, to low
18's just bomb the place but you know how expensive that is?!?! AND THE AMP!?? ugh 12's are for people who want sound quality and such, 18's would lag a bit too on the bumps especially with ported box unless he has a bandpass then it wouldn't lag as much
might as well get yourself a 22" jackhammer lawl

My whole system cost about 400-500 bucks
Better than most who cost around 1 grand
Because i was smart and researched
Last warning before infracting infinint just don't swear
Lol some of us don't have the money and aren't old enough to make enough money to buy a banging system. and once i do have money i plan on getting 6 10's or 4 12's havent' decided, so i get a faster response than 1 18 and it won't lag and will give me better mids and highs

Please, give me infractions, I'm collecting them.
Also, you should really be upgrading your door speakers for midrange. Getting your mid range from where your subs will be positioned isn't going to sound best.

No need to upgrade i have stock ;)
lol it wouldn't matter where there positioned with 6 10's or 4 12's that would give a great even with the traveling. If that made sense lol
But i where to upgrade my doors i would just get shallow 10's and put them on my door custom made giving me a great response but i'd have to hide them so iw ould get them jack
ohh the agony of being poor ._. bt these 12's will do fine until then
