Warcraft 3 help

I got Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne off a friend who downloaded it onto his ipod and then we put it on my computer. It works without using the disk but I tried to connect to battle.net and it wanted me to install the latest game patch and when I did I can't get into Warcraft it says I need the disk!!!!!!!! Can anyone help me!?

Wc3 is old now...I bought it in 03' for like $30.

its probably around 20-25$ now.
