GIMP help needed

Ravin needs all GIMP Users help
When you do a grunge sig, you add grunge brushes and then a gradient over the top of that

I tried it following MreitZ's tut and I cant find the bit that says 'Overlay Layer' or whatever it is supposed to say :\

Ok on the gimp main window thingy

Goto File -- Dialogs -- Layers or Ctrl-L

That will bring up a layer dialog box choose the layer you wish to set as overlay and there will be a small tab down box with Mode: on the side choose overlay there.
