GFX Question

i would like to know how to download fonts.
Me and irish have spent hours of pm's trying to figure out why it wasnt working.


First i went to www.dafont.com
then i saved a font to desktop
then i opened it up, and dragged the icon onto the desktop as a little desktop item (it said TT on it)
then i dragged the item that said TT into the fonts file, which i opened up by opening my computer, the opening file c, then opening "windows", then opening fonts, which is where i dragged the desktop item onto.
the i opened up gimp, where i clicked on the big black "A", which is the text button.
i clicked on open, went into the fonts file, and selected to font i downloaded.
it said error, file invalid, or somthing like that.

the weird thing is, any font i selected, it said the same thing! even the one's i didnt download! lol

so i want to figure this out, so i can start putting text in my sigs,not just plain.

and i didnt know whether this should be in graphics, or tech discussion, but since it was GFX related, i put it here.

please help me :p

Go to MS office word. See if the downloaded font works there.

Delete GIMP and redownload it.
