Will it also run counter strike smoothly?
If not what do I need to buy?
Btw I'm not buying some stupid 500 dollar gfx card.
I can get a whole new pooter for that much lolz.
Here's meh specs.

Cause skull has it and I can get it cheaply for like 10 bucks.
I also want CS.

Lol...TF2 is the game for the cretins!
Anyways, you should be fine with more memory. Neither CS or TF2 are really graphic intensive so you should run fine with whatever you have if it is within the requirements.

Well I guess I can play everything on low settings if I need too.

How much space do you have on your hard drive?
And if your upgradng to 1 Gb ram, you should be fine.
You should look more towards your graphics card.

Nub double post!
If you want to name the graphics card you have that would be helpful...but if you checked and it meets the system requirements you should be able to play it even if it has to be on low settings. I don't think the intel intergrated cards will do the trick for anything nowadays, so if you have one of those babies, think about swapping it out.

Directx 9 is my gfx card.
Apache

No it is not...
DirectX is an API, not a graphics card. Find it.

I'm assuming you have a Windows OS.
Go to your control panel, then system and maintenance, and then device manager. Then click on the display adapters tab and your graphics card should appear there.

Yeah it says directx 9 :(
I'm looking at a gforce gfx card atm.
Is it compatible with my system?

Which one?
Since the 9800GX2s came out the 8800s are cheap as twinkies. They still have the best "bang for your buck" and they are like 100 bucks cheaper than they were a few months ago.

Nvidia G-Force 2 MX Rev
Btw I found my gfx card, it's a Intel(R)82865G
Edit: Is this a good gfx card?

That's kinda...outdated.
The newest is the 9 series...and that is the 2 series.
The best bang for your buck is the 8800gt...trust me. You can check it out here (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8657553&st=8800gt&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1196469743507). 150 is amazingly cheap for that card.
EDIT: I just read your edit. Yea...I'm using the 8500GT 512...it sucks. I bought it a while ago but it sucks. Go with the 8800gt, it is so much better and now is the best time to buy it since the new 9 series was released.

And honor my computer is maxed at 2 gigs.

If you're gonna spend 60-70 on the 8500gt you minus well double it and get the 8800.
But..if its the 8500 you want then it'll work ok. But expect to spend more on an upgrade soon if you want to do anything else in the future...

Well It's not that I don't want the 8800 it's the fact of the money...

Ok..well go with the 8600 you suggested. That is the best out of the 8400gs and 8500gt.
Still...just get the freaking 8800.

That does not solve me gfx card problems.

You can be hired as a 'male escort'. I hear that pays well. :)
But honestly...you're just wasting more money. If you waste 75 on a crap card now...and then have to buy ANOTHER one later when you could just get the better one now...

Ignore everyone else, 2 gigabytes of RAM is fine, and your video card is also fine if it's Direct X 3D compatible.

Btw how does a gfx card suck?
I don't plan on running crysis on max settings, or even at all.
I really don't care about graphics, I just wanna make sure I don't lag lolz.
Btw the 150 dollar sale ended.
Apache
06-16-2008, 05:33 AM
Lol. Well I know that TF2 and CSS aren't graphics intensive so I guess you'll be fine with those but if you are planning on getting any newer games or anything in the future that won't do you much good.
I play on all low settings on CoD4 with textures set to mush and I still lag sometimes...So just keep in mind that the 8500 or even 8600 won't last you that long.
