I haven't been able to use my comp in a while because something has happened either to my video card or the moniter. I remember downloading some free bracket software from www.download.com, and ever since then my moniter has gone haywire.

I can't say for sure if I got some sort of virus from the software, or if it may be another problem. This maybe be a little confusing....
--------
I turn on my PC, and usually within the hour the display on my moniter turns funky/inverted colors. When I go to reboot, the screen where it shows Windows XP loading will have verticle lines streaking through it, and the comp will continue to reboot itself until there are no verticle streaks. Half the time my moniter won't read the DVI and VGA cables. The only way I can get my comp to work again is if I wait for the CPU temperature to drop below 114 degrees F. Wierd huh? I tried hooking up a different moniter and I experience the same problems.

Additional information:
I bought my video card last summer. It's an NVIDEO GEForce 7800.
--------

I've tried everything I know. My last resort is a visit to Geek Squad.

My sister had a problem like that. What ever she did on her VAIO, there would be a bunch of lines going across the screen. IN the end, she sent it in and they fixed it.
