Other stuff you might want to do:
Register your nick (so nobody can impersonate you):
1. Connect to the server you want to register on with your desired nickname
2. In the server screen, type in /msg nickserv register (Your desired password) (Your email)
Example: /msg nickserv register nobodycanaccessmyaccountnows lol@spamme.com
3. You may log-in with your nick by using: /msg nickserv identify (Password). Remember that you have to be using your registered nick to log-in. For example, if you registered as "DaffyDuck" you cannot change your name to "PeterGriffin" and log-in with the same password as "DaffyDuck". The only way to do that is to register "PeterGriffin" (you can register as many nicks as you want).
3a. Also if you registered your nick on one server, it doesn't mean it will be registered on others. This means that just because you registered on 'irc.freenode.net' doesn't mean you'll be registered on 'irc.ia-net.net'.
