Which sword to buy?

Well I got a crap ton of money for my b-day, so I decided I want to buy a sword. I am down to two, but I can't decide which one. Help me decide plz

The katana looks better balanced, and easier to control. I'm not a 100% sword expert, but for self defense, the katana would win.

The Odachi seems like it is made of cheaper metal too, so I would definately pick the Katana.
