OK don't go all serious about this you can debate as much as you want but don't go off cursing making random post supporting your idea.

My opnion is that we shouldn't. We are the only thing keeping Iraq together if we withdrew the troops we would do all that for nothing.
Imagine people dieng fighting for our (U.S.) country and then we withdraw and lose everything so that basically means they died for nothing.

I think we should. Your right that people died to fighting for our country, but now that we have almost complete control, deaths that are happening right now are just pointless. Lets get out and kill someone else thats being evil.

Not now. The Iraqis are becoming more independent every day, but pulling them out now would (a) admit defeat and (b) throw Iraq into shambles. Unfortunately, all we hear from the media is how horrible the war is... If they ever spoke about the progress that's been made I'm sure more people would support the war.

I'm not political at all but we were talking about it in S.S and my teacher said its complicated because we can't just up and leave but we've been there too long and some other crap. I don't remember it all so I might not be making sense but I'm just gonna say I don't care because I'm a 15 year old kid, even if I did care I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. ;)

Theres power in thought my friend...one person can make a difference

Keep the troops in.

Why?
Because if we leave, guess who will take control.

The Holy fighters of some middle eastern country(cant remember the name but i know it has to deal with holy fighters)

If we leave know, Iraq will start to fight and another dictator will take power.

Iraq is almost democradizd (is that a word?) so we should stay in till the job is done

You sound like you quoted that from my history teacher. He cant spell or make sense.

But if we keep them in and keep sending people in, it'll just be more US soldier deaths. We made the same mistake when nixon sent as many troops as possible to Vietnam. Guess what happened? We lost because he just wanted to win.

Have you guys ever stopped and thought of the fact that we can easily just say "We lost" and go on with our lives? It's hard to understand that someone is getting tortured in Iraq who happens to be an American soldier. Maybe he had kids and a wife waiting at home. As the souther rock artist in the 60s said "They might just come back home.....in a box"

If we ended this war now, we can go back to getting out of recession (or preventing it) and stop spending soo much money on this war effort. I think it was one billion the past year. What can we have do with that money?

There are 300 million in the United and out of those 300 million, 3 million are in the armed forces (1,600,000 active and 1,100,000 reserve). I think we should stay in but at the same time signal a withdrawal. We need to tell the Iraqis to hurry up with the path to independence so we can get out earlier. @Bile That U.S. solider being tortured won't be released just because we ended the war. We will still be in a state of war with Al-Queda. Also that "I lost" will mean many things: - We lost a war and now have a weaker military (we will still have a weaker military either ways but by winning it we can get a military ally) - The terrorists get a new stronghold - 4,000 troops will be in vain considering how close Iraq is to independence...

If you take troops out of Iraq right now...

There will be hell to pay. That country needs us to settle it out.

i have a couple things to say about this:

1. we haven't drafted people, they are willing to sign up
2. all though it is not that obvious, tarriest acts have been disordered since then, so there is some effect
3. we can't just send troops in for 10years then say "o well this will never help, so we lose" it takes much time to get a region of the world like that in order, it takes decades of troop present and training of local people, re-building the economy and government. If he leave now, it will go to hell in the next 5years
4. its not just us there...germany has the second biggest troop prescience in Iraq, Afghanistan and to pull out now would not just look bad on our part, but leave the next generation with the same problems that this one started with
5. what happens there will affect the world, why not shape it while we can?
