Ok, now that I have pawngame's largest Forum Game thread(Corrupt a wish foundation) I think now is the time to start a new debate thread. The Topis is: Double Posting

Ok for those of you readers who don't know what double posting is, double posting is when you type a message right after your original post (original post, not thread) without editing.

Usually this happens because of the following reasons:

User doesn't see the edit button..
User does not feel like editing
User forgets to edit
User is spamming

The Story
Ok now lets get to the point of the debate. Pretend that I am the double poster. I dont double post for enjoyment or spam or anything like that but I'd just like to get the message across. I feel that by double posting, that people may not notice my edit to the original post and by double posting, users will get to see my new message.

I Also feel that double posting does not cause lag, or spam, nor does it harm anyone's Eyes/ears/body in any shape or form. Double posting is a harmless way of getting a message across.

Now keep in mind that this is just pretend and the story may or may not be real about my true feelings about Double Posting (I aint tellin).
Rules:
-No FLAMING (I cannot stress this enough)
-No Spamming
-All posters who post here must be apart of this thread, in other words no useless comments...Friendly Arguments only.
-Don't take anything said by any posters to hurt your feelings, if your point is counterattacked, post another point to counter his, or just quit the debate.
-Basic Pawngame Rules Apply.

Any Arguments against my story?

You are in the right. There is nothing wrong with getting a point across in two posts than in 1. Sometimes i feel that edit's dont really work because if someone has read the first 2 pages before, then why are they going to read it again? They wont, that is why i think that sometimes okay, and other times its not.

I saw some people quadruple posting! *Cough* Kal *Cough*

But some people just forget to edit their posts, or the forums are lagging and they click the "Submit" button many times.

I follow these rules:

Quadruple posting: Puff calls Ghostbusters.

Triple Posting: Puff calls Batman.

Double Posting:

Hehehehehe. Let that be a lesson to all you kids. <.<

Usually I will delete a double post.
Or do the super bump, where you post then delete it right away.

It makes thing a bit less confusing when you condese all your thoughts into one post. It makes our forums seem a bit more organized to the visitors who come read our forums and try to join Pawngame.

When someone wants to read a debate or an argument thread, they usually dont notice the name of the person who posted and just read the posts. It'd be better to have the thread flowing in a constant rate with different people posting.

That's just what I think :/

dead frontier forums don't have a edit button, so there is no shame in double posting their

1. i understand if you double post b/c your first post was 2days+ old and no one has posted after it

2. i don't like it when people double post becuase they have someone else to quote(there is a butten for multi quote, use it)

3. spaming is pretty much a given, you can spam just by saying 'good job man' or in an argument thread just saying 'i agree with ______'....well you totaly agree with this person? is that because you share a brain with them? you should expand your post so the reader gets all the information in 1 post

of course what would be one of the worest kind of double posting would be if i posted 1, 2, and 3 in serperated post one after the other, there is no need for that. So in a kind of a way, i do agree with it sometimes, what i agree with more is that a double/triple/quadruple..ect poster should NOT be flamed for their actions

Double posting is usually caused by lag. If you submit a message more than once then you will have to wait 30 seconds to submit the other ones. Sometimes the forum malfunctions and you accidentally double post...

Once I double posted a thread and I only clicked the submit button once... Yesterday Sk8urdead made a double post....

I've only seen rdsmack intentionally double post. Usually its caused by forum error and that is pretty much it.

I hate double submitting more than double posting

i have double posted b4 (admittedly) stupid Windows 98's with the slow dial up. Sorry desipio. But lately I have seen more of it. And not just bumping either. Doesn't really bother me though.

Looks to me like double posting on pawngame is mostly due to lag or glitch.

i've seen foxyshazam double post on almost every thread his posted on....and then he would post stuff like "this is a spam thread" after his first post.....so its kinda ironic

the only bad thing about double posting is you have to read one person's thoughts on the thread twice, when he/she/it could have put it all together. Other then that there is nothing bad about it...what are they going to do? double post their way to 4,000? post count doesn't really matter

and do you seriously think that if you read 5 pages in a thread, you would go back and read every single post every time you read others, just to check and make 100% sure no one edited a post on second page?
