Best Animation format?

Simple question. Whats the best animation format to save your file to? The only one I know is .gif format.....are there any better animation formats that will come out better.

no, im pretty sure you can only get "the flash file" from flash itself, maybe get a free trial, or talk to aon thru pm, hes got teh hooks
