Have you just started with gimp?

I'd personally use a different kind of brush for these, to smudge.

I'm not an expert on smudging, so I couldn't tell you the key to making a good smudge.

But, I think it all depends on what your trying to do. If you're tryin to blend it in, or Whatever , so I think it just all depends.

I'd say the sig in all, is pretty good for a beginner but try to put more effects work on some lighting and put a backround. :]

Not really good, But hey its not bad either.

Sort of looks like a motion blur and not smudging..

Looks empty and needs more effects.

see i just make sigs and i only post them on my clan forum. until recently so when ppl say effects and stuff and c4ds i really have no idea what ehy are talking about. this one i wasnt really looking for a background or anything i jsut wanted to messs around with smudging.

but liek for effects. what do you mean? add acually brushes and a background and stuff or what? and how do you work wiht the lighting? is it jsut growing it darker or lgihter from one side to another?

I see your trying to get the hang of it. Just keep going at it, instead of using different brushes, try messing with the smudge settings. Since your just starting this out I guess all I can say is keep practicing with smudge and you will end up loving it.
