So my school in Ohio does not allow you to have any facial hair.. I am going to fight this until it gets passed or am suspended. But first things first...

I need some research on the matter, you know other problems that have happened, why it is NOT a problem being there etc. I have already started on my own of course, but if anyone has any knowledge it would be very helpful!

The school hates facial hair because the student might have more then the teachers, therefor the teachers being mistaked as wimps.

I got suspended today because I did not shave. It is BULL that they interrupt my education for a NATURAL body occurance. I mean it's like them telling me I can't go to the bathroom, I would LOVE to see them try.

Poosh this seems unconstitutional.

It's my opinion that this violates the American Right of the Pursuit of Happiness.

Hope you take it to the supreme court.

yea this so unoconstitutional. The right to bare arms..give them a face load!! wait not that one...freedom of press? no..:D jk

But there must be a law that you can use to help you.

Personally it seems like a lot to fight for just to keep some facial hair. There is possibly more stacked against you then for you, but you do have a right to keep it. At least fight to keep a trimmed version. As for ideas to help, facial hair would probably amount to nothing but being Aesthetically pleasing, though I do know of some cases where it helped. HS being one of those moments that people want to join are where acne usually starts creeping in, but it's also where facial hair occurs. Facial hair, like most other hair, helps to block out particles, and in the case of acne, is beneficial.

It can take on the particles that float around that could irritate, aggravate, among many other things in the case of acne, which could lead to some health problems. It also helps to hide old scars and even the pimple itself so as not the make the remainder of HS life any more unpleasant then it already is. There was actually a case where an Albino kid had severe Acne that was hidden underneath his bread and along his sides, but thankfully it was covered by a beard. If he had fully removed it, not only would he have had a horrible HS moment that could probably scar him for life, but he would expose his face to the elements and make things worse.

That is about all I know Hope it helps.

"Banning facial hair or headwear. This violates some religious beliefs.
A ban on facial hair can also be seen as discriminatory towards males who have problems with shaving due to extremely sensitive skin. This is a condition that affects more African-American men than white, so it could also be a racial discrimination issue."

meh ill try to find more

This may not be right but im pretty sure thats not ligit due to the fact that its a thing you cant control. you shouldent have like a 50ft tall fking beard but you should have the right to have a mustache a go-t a 5oclock shadow ect. if they made you shave facial hair then that means that the whole school needs to do that... not just kids. im not sure if the teacehrs have facial hair but if they do youve got the legal right to have it to i think XD
and like sasquatch said it violates religious beliefs, like a kid at my school wears a turban for some reson and another kid leaves the classroom goes to our principals ofice and prays. ty for bringing it up sasquatch XD

Good idea guys, and by the way the teachers in the school are and DO have facial hair, one of my teachers has facial hair that resembles Chuck Norris, so thats what we call him.

I'd understand if they banned exotic or very "out-there" facial hair or hairstyles, but simply having facial hair is nothing for a school to be so touchy about. I mean, it's not our choice to grow hair or not. It's a natural body production and nothing can stop that.

Plus, it's just another problem. Shaving is your decision. Schools do not grade you on how you look. Maybe a 2 foot mohawk with pink highlights and an undershirt is detrimental to the learning environment and will cause distractions, but a simple moustache or beard should be a problem! it's not a distraction nor is it changing the flow of the daily lessons being taught.

I looked at my dress code along with several other states and nothing said facial hair is not allowed. They all say "exotic hair styles, piercings and clothing". The things that cause a distraction and I understand that. If students can't have facil hair, then why can the teachers have facial hair? If it's a distraction, then they will cause an equal distraction.

Schools are giving students less rights. This is dictatorship and I am sure not standing for it. I have a year left and i'm not going to graduate and look back and think about how bad tose 13 years were. I mean seriously? No facial hair? I'm going to go to ohio with a braided goatee down to my waist.

Then thats illegal. its basicly violating the school rights terms and the teachers get fired or get there job suspendid which yes can happen.
if they suspend you and the teachers can do it then by laws your aloud to. by the age of 16 which i belive you are its thefreedom to persue happiness and its age discrimination.

Contact ZZ Top, tell them to come into your classroom, n sit down like students. anytime a teacher is about to say something, *guitar solo*.

Or, just come to school with a fake beard, mario mustash, n old grandpa ear hair.
