xbox live help!! please

ok... i connected my xbox 360 to my modem via eathernet cable.

i pressed test xbox live connection on my 360.

it said it was "wired" but it coulndnt get my ip address...

and i couldnt figure out what to do.

please help

Connect the ethernet cable to your router.

Yeah it's a lot easier just to put it in your router. If you don't have a router, you can't be on XBL and online on your computer at the same time.
