well when you buy something at a stand for 2$ using a ten, and you get 6$ back, its easier to tell them their wrong straight then then to do the math and chew em out 3 minutes later

Well, algebra is technically a lanuage whereas math is a simple form of addition, subtraction etc.
Also, if you were smart you wouldn't have to give a second thought to the fact that 10-2=8, not 6

Actually you certainly will use the FOIL method. It's very convenient when you are factoring costs and yearly payments with commision. Factoring is great in that matter.
