Dual Core AMD Athlon 4400+ 2.8 GHz processors, 132 pipes (This makes mine equivalent to 3.6 GHz per processor.)

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT Graphics card, Overclocked manually to 750hz, 52 pipes.

Dual 320gb SATA Hard drives, 640 total gb.

Since I only use one hard drive really, and part of the other one for a backup, and I use the rest of it as RAM using a special feature.

Oh, and my OS: Linux, Ubuntu 7.10 Distribution :D.

Computers are capable of 3 gigs of ram. Most Mother boards have 4 ram slots, each of which can hold 1 gigabyte of ram, i dont think you can get anything higher then 1 gigabyte per stick, not sure though, but... Most people dont use more then 2 gigs so its really pointless.

You are going to need to upgrade to 4 GBs of ram if you want to run smoothly, thats what I had to do with my HP Media TouchSmart PC. Trust me. Vista likes ram.

It is possible, thus allowing you to use 165 GIGs, but not the way you think. This is how it works (For people who don't know) (I Think) Lets say you have 2 GB of memory. Lets say you have a whole bunch of programs open and you use all of your 2GB of memory up. What your computer does is when you open another program, it takes a program that is open but is in like a "hibernation" mode and stores its "state" as physical data on the hard drive. When you click it back open, it takes the physical data, puts it on your ram, and puts another program on the HDD as physical data.

This is what we call virtual memory.

If you go to Control Panel, System, Advance, Performance Settings, then Advance, at the bottom you will see how much of your HDD can be used as virtual memory. It is NOT a "Special feature" like you call it... it is on everything...

Now lets look at the PHYSICIAL DEFINITION of virtual memory.

1. The use of a portion of the hard disk to swap out data when insufficient RAM exists to hold all such data.

2. Virtual (or logical) memory is a concept that, when implemented by a computer and its operating system, allows programmers to use a very large range of memory or storage addresses for stored data. The computing system maps the programmer's virtual addresses to real hardware storage addresses. ...

Now you may say "Hey what if I have a program that uses 1 gig but I only have 512 but it works?" This is because what it does is sections off parts of the program using ram assitance and puts the non used part on the HDD. When you access it, it swaps it.

However if it needs to use all 1 gig at once, it uses your hard drive as a type of SUPER SLOW SUCKY CRAPPY ram. Basically real ram is like a lightning bolt, whereas the HDD is finding a needle in the hay stack.

So this dude bragging about saying he has 165GIGS of ram, is full of balogna. He probably has 1 gig ram and 164 gig virtual memory.

I gotted the bestest Fastest PC w/ most ram) so far. Now some scrub is going to post their leet info because I posted this lol. I did not even post my GFX info for my Desktop. ^.^

Also for those who say "OMG Pentium 4 is better than Intel Celeron D" don't even go there. Anything that is not "Pentium" were bad chips that got fixed, but do the exact same thing, just a different name. ^.^
