1.1 - Introduction to easing.
If you are a pivoter on pawn, you've probably heard the phrase: "Work on easing" many times.

Trust me, its hard, but when you master it, you will be a great pivoter. It takes time and devotion, but eventually you will have it down. If you really think about it, it makes perfect sense.

1.2 - Definition of easing/Choppiness.
The defenition of easing is simple, it is making a pivot smoother by gradually lengthening the distance of movement between 2 frames, and later gradually shortening the distance of movement between 2 frames.

The definition of choppiness is an unsmooth or uneased pivot, usually resulting in bad animation quality.

1.3 - What it looks like
Easing makes a pivot much smoother, as you can see here in this example.

The stk on the left is uneased, and choppy, the one on the right has been eased, and shows signs of it, in the form of being less choppy.

This it where it makes sense. In life, do you start moving really fast and stop moving that abruptly? No, you start slow, then speed up, then slow down agian.

*Note that easing can/should be used on any movements possible (i.e. jumping, running, walking, etc...)

See the difference?

1.4 - How to do it.
Easing can make a pivot, so time to teach you how to do it.

Start out by moving the stk a very small distance from where it used to be. Every frame, move it a bit more until you are about half way. Then start closing the gap again, moving the distance closer every frame. Here, let me give an example:

See, on the right the distances get gradually farther, then shorter again as the stk gets to its destination.
*Also note that the eased one is symmetrical.

1.5 - Closing notes and credits
This may seem hard for you, and if it is, stick with it. Just practice if you want to get better, and once you do, its like riding a bike, you get rusty but never forget.
