What is the point of an assult game, ive played team deathmacth but i dont get what to do in assalts?

if you are on the blue team you need to defened the artifact from the attacking red team, the little floating piece inside what looks like a glass box is the artifact.

On the red team you need to kill the blue team while going after the artifact to destroy it.
