no, first rank is easiest only about 1k points then your up a rank.

lol it takes a 1000 points to go up to any new rank

It only takes 1000 points to rank up, thats 100 kills (with no deaths) and there r ppl that get 1000 points per GAME. It does'nt get too hard to rank up until ur a star. Its still easy for me to rank up.
