You know how the iPhone is only used under AT&T?
Not anymore.
I read this article about some 17 year old who hacked an iPhone with only a soldering gun and some computer programs.
He spent all his summer on "Unlocking" (hacking) the iPhone into using
T-Mobile.
The phone, and all the programs still work, except for a voicemail list, which shows
Voicemail in a list like e-mail.
He sold the unlocked $499 iPhone on Ebay for $12,500
The hack is for experienced hackers only, so not many people can actually succeed in unlocking the phne.
Also, since the hack has been made public, Apple will probably patch it.

Thanks for an interesting semi-news article.:p
Lol, I don't think there's too many chances of being able to patch that...

If not then there is a surefire way of doing it now with no soldering involved, they were going to release it but ATAT is taking them to court.

I just did research on this and I am pretty damn positive he did not fake it lol. Where is your proof he faked it?
*Gasp.
Poosh double posted?
Anyway, I think thats cool. Although if I had an iPhone I wouldn't start to take it apart and everything. I would probably break it.:p

Exactly, if it was fake I highly doubt it would be over the news like it is, plus he proved it by using a T Mobile Sims chip + they dialed a tmobile only phone # and his phone rang.

To bad you can't do that with the Verizon network.
To bad you can't do that with the Verizon network.
Im sure that if you gave someone enough time and money they could hack it to verizon.

Jailbreaking the iPhone allows you to use the sim card for any company if you have the hack installed.
