View Full Version : Why Blank Can't Use Copyrighted Content
Basically, there have been people wanting stuff such as Halo guns, stuff from an video game, etc., to be in PAWN. But the thing is, chances are, Blank can't use it. Why? Because of copyright laws. The thing is, one cannot use copyrighted content in his or her flash scripts, unless with signed permission. For example, if Blank wanted to add music to PAWN, then he would have to generally get permission from artists and record companies, and possibly have to pay royalties. Stuff costs money, guys.
So, when you go to make an suggestion, remember. If it's copyrighted, Blank will have to go through alot of crap to actually use it, and even then, Blank might not be able to use it the way he wants to use it for. Basically, make sure you suggest something that isn't completely impossible.
PS: I felt this thread was needed. Feel free to delete/move/sticky/lock this thread.

I don't think we want a sci-fi shooter that's a side-scroller and that's just like Halo. It just wouldn't fit.

Exactly, so when people suggest it, I don't think half the pawn community would want halo guns in Pawn.

that's still like copying a report from some place on the internet, and then printing it and saying oh look I did this. :|
---plagiarism my friend, not legal :| even if it is a knock off :D
I'm requesting for this to be moved into Suggestions/Bugs, stickied, and locked. ^_^

IAAW: Then again there are those things which are widely used and not copy righted. EX: The Desert Eagle (Thats DEFINATLY not copyrighted)
How do i know it's not copy righted? It's becuase it's used in many MANY games. Thus, It shouldnt be copy righted now then?
Basically im trying to give waht IAAW said only in a giving Blank101 suggestions form. TRY TO FIND WEAPONS WHICH ARE WIDELY USE OR NOT USED EVER! (Which means just try to create one on your own)
Thank you.
Nice topic IAAW ^_^

He can use the current guns because they are actual guns in real life, not concept guns from copyrighted material.
