They found in a new planet. Here's an article about it...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070424/ap_on_sc/habitable_planet
It's ONLY 120 trillion miles away.[/sarcasm]
I got a good feeling about this planet... :0

Yeah, they said it's size and atmosphere are simalar to Earth's. Which means it might be able to support life.
They also said it's 20 light years away.

Yeah, has all that in the article. They're not sure if there's already water or life there, though.

Wow, 20 lightyears. mars is like 100,000 miles, and it takes us 5 years to get there....imagine 20 light years

I bet it has life.....Maybe were we came from o.0
i have good feeling about it , too
but i don't think the thing they r saying in the article is true.
they r scientists we should believe them right
no way i hate scientists
Send Han Solo and Chewy to check it out. If its got life, i say invade and let me set it up my way.

i just heard about it on the news and did a little research
there are frozen oceans on it and the surface temperature is around -428 degrees fahrenheit, so it most likely doesnt have life since pretty much nothing can survive in that temp...
also, their sun is a red dwarf, meaning that it's going to die out soon and the discovery is pretty useless... it probably DID support life at one point, a few billion years ago when their sun was larger, but definitely doesnt now
here's an article i found on it

edit: im not sure if the links are talking about the same planet o_O

Ah, let us all congratulate 2007's ground breaking technology for they have used it to it's fullest.
A new planet has been discovered, and by god, it's a big step in humanity!

Going the fastest POSSIBLE in the universe it would take us 20 hours to get there... Unless we somehow made a teleportation device or we freeze ouu selfs and going the fastest that ANYONE has ever went, stay in space for 50000 years to get there....
WHats messed up is they could be on there planet and they could have JUST discovered earth as well and are saying the same thing.... Freaky...

Founded in 1952, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has a mission to ensure national security and apply science and technology to the important issues of our time. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is managed by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration
This was a different planet
also, poosh. If we were going to jouney that planet using our fastest speed, we's have to use all of our fuel, oil, foods, cows, exc. I say wait till we get more info

lol i'm glad we found this planet. i knew there was life out there somewhere. maybe this is it. but still, 20 lightyears? what the crap lol. its gonna take awhile to get there >__> i mean even the speed of light takes 20 years to get there. the speed of sound is a crapload slower. BUT, there are ways:
on the way to the outer planets, a space probe used Jupiters immense gravity to pull the spaceship and slingshot it foward. maybe we can do that all the way there? lawl. at least until we run out of nearby planets >__>

That why were moving there, to start ove.
And mars has no air,water,plants.... There is no resoruce there, we are moving to a new planet to get more and better resources..
and what i fear that that planet may be the planets of the ape
and it was not called planet x

Theoreticly, we COULD teraform mars into something habitable. It'd be easiar then going to the other one, fo' sho.

Lol.
You're right, though...
I mean, what happens to earth when you drain the Atlantic Ocean and send the water to Mars?
Nothing too peaceful.
