A firefighter in Philadelphia was suspended without pay because he refused to remove an American flag sticker off his locker.

So Un-American of him to serve in the Marine Corp right?

I do understand where the guy was coming from, asking for a sticker removal, since the new rule was placed. It's something we've all had to deal with at one point I would assume. A new rule pops up banning a certain thing, then something is asked to be removed because you would assume that it would be able to be overlooked, despite the rule. Do I think it was the correct move to ask the guy to remove the flag? Of course I don't, but I do understand where it comes from.

It is sort of understandable why the Fire department made that rule and enforced it. If they didn't enforce it then the firefighters might think they can get away with things. And the reason to even have that rule was understandable as well. As for the Flag in general i understand how they feel that having that flag is about patriotism but then should they make an exception for all flags?
Very complicated issue

I would have done the same thing if I were him.
