Well, i was watching T.V and they said they were possibly discussing if they should change the season length to 17 or 18 games. Said it was going to happen before 2012 or 2010( ill edit when i get exact year)
Discuss.

Good, they need to cut two preseason games and add two more to the regular season.

More games will lead to higher salary demands. Then it's up to the owner's to either meet that demand, or refuse and then we see a strike(which can still happen without a CBA in place).
If the salaries get raises, everything NFL-related(tickets, concessions, parking, etc.) will see a spike in prices, making it more difficult for those with less expendable income to go see an NFL game.
Without as many ticket sales, less attendance is seen, which leads to multiple blacked out games(Look at Jacksonville, Cincy, Detroit, etc).
With home games blacked out, you can't see your home team playing, which means you are stuck with about three games a week.
With a longer schedule, you also risk more injuries to players, and you don't want to see your star QB go down.
With a shortened preseason, your team cannot analyze as many players as with four(maybe your team cuts a second string RB that is the second coming of Gale Sayers).
Also, if it ain't broke don't fix it, and the NFL is far from broke. Don't mess with the status quo.

Those are all excellent points, but it's just one game added to the regular season. Keep the 4 game preseason, and it would all be good.

Well im pretty sure it is going to happen rusty makes some points, but the preseason will be better and more exciting to watch to see players competing for positions.
Thing is though there is already 20 games, and with this change there will still be 20 games 2 preseason and 18 regular season.
Injuries happen, so be it.
PSSH, awesome!! more wasted weekends on football games, you gotta love it!!

The season length is fine at the moment. I don't think there needs to be any changes to it.

I think its bad personaly. If you think about it, the less games there are the more you wanna watch them and get tickets because they dont play that long.

It would also make the playoffs which are my favorite part of the NFL season take longer to come.

Keep it the same, it's fine right now. I like the length, and Rusty makes a lot of good points.
