View Full Version : History of Blank101, JPillz, and Pawn REQUEST

I've always liked the game but wanted to learn more about its history, and the history of the 2 developers Blank101 and JPillz.
I'd like to know if they have any college background that relates to the development of Pawn. Also I'd like to know more about the history of Pawn as to how the idea came about, how long did the development take, is it more Graphics, or ActionScript, what version of AS is used.
The above is the type of information I'd like to learn more about.
Thanks to anyone who can contribute to help me learn more info about the history of Pawn.
I'm going to tell you everything you need to know, then I'm going to close this thread.
Blank goes/went (not sure) to school in Canada. (College/Uni).
Don't think anyone really knows if JP ever went to college. I assume so, but I have no clue.
How should anyone here know how long development took? Even Blank probably isn't entirely sure how to answer that, and I'm fairly sure he'll never see this thread.
As with all games, it's a mixture of graphics and code (in the case of PawnGame, that means AS2, and in the case of PawnTactics, that means AS3).
That's all.
Blank101 was born in a small village in northeast Ontario to a blacksmith and a prostitute. At age 5, his family was forced to leave their village when his mother became pregnant with the mayors ******* child.
They moved south towards the American border, hoping to illegally cross the border, and make a new life in the greatest country on earth. Unfortunately, they were stopped at the border by Canadian horse cops (Mounties) and were forced to take shelter somewhere else. Broke and homeless, they took to the streets of Toronto, panhandling and preforming tricks for money.
Blanks brother, who we will refer to as Psycho for obvious reasons, was born in the back of a local tavern. His father wanted to put the child up for adoption, but his mother refused. This started a trend of heavy drinking, and spousal abuse that would continue for most of his life.
Around the time Blank was 10, his family had finally settled down. Regardless of his alcoholism, his father found work at a Canadian auto plant making cars for GM. His mother, still clinging to her past, found work dancing at a strip club in downtown Toronto.
Life continued, and the boys grew into teenagers. Blank took solace from his real world troubles with the internet. He came to love a game called C&C Renegade. He enjoyed it so much he even lent a copy to his best friend, TF, to join him. They played for years, and met alot of amazing people online. Especially yours truly.
At age 17, Blanks parents filed for divorce. His father was so angered, came home one night, and beat Blanks mother to death. He was given 25 to life, and the boys were placed in a nice foster home about an hour outside of Toronto. As fate would have it, TF's family had moved there just the previous year, and the duo were united once again. It was there that Blank met other friends like Mark, and JP. Life was starting to look up for a change.
Because of his new foster family's wealth, Blank was able to enroll in a great school, where he began taking computer classes. He learned things like Flash, and HTML, and eventually got an idea to make his own game. Such began work on Pawn as we know it.
...
Lets fast forwards to present day. Blank is now in college with his buddy JP. Mark is away at school as well, and TF is in prison for having sex with farm animals. Pawn has grown into Pawn Tactics. Users have come and go. Mods have risen and fallen. But the oldest, wisest, and most awesome member, is still around to spread the tale, of Blank101.
THE END.

Blank is doing like mathematical physics as his major. And JP is doing some liberal arts program or something (lots of general stuff).
Lots of the stuff is in the 'Abouts' page, go read it.
Otherwise greb and neo covered it.

I know that JP made all the characters, map tiles, etc with MS Paint, and try reading the "About" section.
PawnGame.com was officially launched in August of 2006 with two main developers (Blank101 and JPillz). Since then, we have made it our goal to provide an interactive arena for users to play and discuss multiplayer flash games. All games released here at PawnGame.com are absolutely free of charge for everyone.
Our first project, Pawn, was launched alongside the website in 2006. Since then it has seen over 10 million visitors worldwide. Due to the high reception of Pawn, work soon moved to a sequel - Pawn: Tactics (PT). After a year PT became open for public beta testing. Its just a start, but we hope to continue improving and designing new and existing multiplayer flash games for years to come.
We hope you enjoy your stay here. :)

What makes our games so unique?
Whether you're at work, school or home our games are completely accessible to all computers that can support flash games.
Pawn is a safe gaming environment. We have a strict policy on swearing and racism so that our games can be available to many different age groups.
Pawn is powered by CMG servers. CMG (CrazyMonkeyGames.com) is one of the biggest flash gaming networks on the internet so you don't have to worry about things such as lag.
You don't have to worry about things like score tampering because, unlike some other free flash games, Pawn's server code is untouchable.
The game creators are always working to stop cheaters, fix bugs and improve overall game play.
Our friendly staff are here to provide you with any assistance you need.

Pawn was made with flash, not MS paint.
There's no way to incorporate characters made in MS paint into flash.
