G1. Game types-
In order to play this game correctly, you have to know the types of games, and how to play them:
Deathmatch: this is your simple free-for-all battle. In order to win, you have to have the most kills.
Team Deathmatch: This is a team battle. In order to win, your team has to have the most kills.( by you killing for the team score) You cannot damage your team.
Capture The Flag: This is another team battle. Instead of trying to kill the enemy most, you have to capture the enemy teams' flags. You do that by walking on the enemy flag and bringing it back to your own. First team to three captures wins.
Assault( no this isn't a assault class only game): There are only 2 teams, red and blue, each having different objectives.
Red: Try to capture zones( walk on all purple areas for 5 seconds each)
Blue: Protect zones by killing the reds before they get to a zone.
Now that you know how to play the games, you can read the rest of the guide now.

A1. Recon Introduction-
The Recon Class a stealth class, having a strength against the lower armored classes with its knife. And The higher armored classes (Heavy, Guard) with its MP5 (Numpad 1). There will be several methods, ( mentioned later) on how to deal with your enemies in somewhat, easy to execute ways, making the Recon a versatile class.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
A2. Recon Weapons and Weapon Strategies-
The Recon class has very capable weapons, able to deal with almost any situation.
Here are the weapons, that the Recon class can use:
MP5
Nighthawk
Kbar Knife
You need to know there are several bullet types and what they are before you look at the weapon stats. They are here:
HP: damage depends on armor
AP: damage completely ignores armor
EXPL: damage depends on armor
Next, this shows what the stats are:
Damage: How much damage it could do with 1 hit
Shots per discharge: how many hits you can do with 1 click
Maximum damage per discharge: How much damage you could do with 1 click
Cooldown: How long you have to wait before you can fire again.
Max ammo: maximum ammo
Height: how high it can shoot
Accuracy: how accurate it is
Bullet type: what kind of bullet it has
Bullet speed: how fast the bullet goes
Bullet duration: how long the bullet stays
Bullet range: how far the bullet can travel
Special:unique qualities or abilities
Now here are the weapon stats and weapon strategies:
http://i42.tinypic.com/mwcj2t.png
MP5
Damage: 14
Shots per discharge: 1
Maximum damage per discharge: 14
Cooldown: 140 ms
Max ammo: 150
Height: 15
Accuracy: 1.6
Bullet type: Hallow Point
Bullet speed: 2000-3000
Bullet duration: 500 ms
Bullet range: 1000-1500
Special: None
This is your weapon for heavily armored classes (Ex. Heavies and Guards) and low health recons, assaults, supports, maulers, Lancers and other recons. It can take out a heavy from range in about 5-10 seconds, 10-20ish shots. And can kill damaged assaults, supports, maulers, Lancers and other recons in less time... this makes it easier to shoot them then risking a melee from the assault. Or a powerful hit from maulers, supports, or the other classes. The problem is that the cloaking ability of the recon is taken away while shooting and shortly after. So choose your target well if you shoot a heavy from close. It can see you and blow you away.
_/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\_
http://i40.tinypic.com/262wnds.png
Nighthawk
Damage: 25
Shots per discharge: 1
Maximum damage per discharge: 25
Cooldown: 700 ms
Max ammo: 32
Height: 18
Accuracy: 0.9
Bullet type: Hallow Point
Bullet speed: 2000-3000
Bullet duration: 500 ms
Bullet range: 1000-1500
Special: Firing this weapon won't completely disable the recon's cloak
This Weapon keeps you *Cloaked* While shooting...It can be useful for VERY low life enemies... since it does not shoot fast and doesn’t do very much damage. I personally do not use this weapon much, but different people have different strategies.
_/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\__/\_/\_
http://i42.tinypic.com/34go5co.png
Kbar Knife
Damage: 100
Shots per discharge: 3
Maximum damage per discharge: 300
Cooldown: 1000 ms
Max ammo: Infinity
Height: 5
Accuracy: 0
Bullet type: Close Range
Bullet speed: 800-800
Bullet duration: 10 ms
Bullet range: 8-8
Special: None
This is the recons bread and butter, the most useful weapon in a recons arsenal. It can take out maulers, Assults, Lancers, and other recons in 1 hit, Which can be very useful. But DO NOT KNIFE HEAVYS OR GAURDS, It does very little damage. When you click and hold you are visible and this is called knife holding, don’t do this as you are completely visible and a good target for others. But if you knife right, Using the recon’s speed and knife from the side nice and quick. It can be very deadly!
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
A3.Recon only Tactics-
Offensive: Recons are the Capture the flag class. They are fast, and they can (Invisibly) sneak behind the flag and wait for the right time to steal it. In non CTF matches the recon can be used to kill the light armored classes (mauler, support, lancer, ect.). Knife from the side, and only MP5 Heavies and/or guards from a higher level, unless they are very low health. Do not knife heavies or guards. As it does very minimal damage!
Defensive: Recons can also be effective at guarding your flag. As when an enemy steals your flag, they can knife or MP5 them easily. But all in all, I don’t view the recon as a very defensive class. They are meant for pushing up and using there stealth to sneak and knife enemies. They don’t have a very powerful gun. So use the knife and flag capturing skills to your advantage!
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
A4.Recons vs. other classes(strategies on how to kill enemies and their various classes)-
This chapter will teach you how to counter your enemies and their various classes.
Recon vs. Assault-
When you are fighting the Assault use your knife to your advantage. Sneak up to them and use your knife quickly and effectively. Knife from the side and do not hold the knife (holding the knife is when you click and hold the mouse for extended amounts of time.). Watch out for the assaults Melee. As it is a 1 hit kill for you. Knifing fast and from the side (or back if needed) can help reduce the risk of getting melee’d. if you are on higher level then the assault you can try MP5ing them. Watch out for grenades though and keep your distance.
Recon vs. Support-
Support unlike the Assault class does not have a melee, this makes them easier to kill. Sneak up from the side (or behind them) and knife fast. If they hit you dead on with there shotgun it can kill or damage you badly. Keep there distance, and as they move to you. Knife fast! . If you are on higher level then them you can try MP5ing them. Watch out for grenades though and keep your distance.
Recon vs. Heavy-
Your enemy has a minigun, strong melee attack, and practically invulnerable to knife. There lies a problem. Usually try to stay away from them unless they have low health. The Heavy is basically a recon killer... and an unfortunate matchup... Use your MP5 and try to keep your distance. They too have a melee 1 hit KO. Shoot from higher ground and watch out for nades. Or avoid them unless you are a confident recon.
Recon vs. Recon-
Fighting yourself can be difficult... as Recon vs. Recon all comes down to the most skilled (or laggy) recon. Wait for them to get into view and keep your knife ready... Knife fast. While moving, don’t stand still. If they are running away from you, you can chase them with the MP5, keep your distance from a knife though!
Recon vs. Mauler-
Mauler limits your ability to take cover, due to his grenade launcher. But it is no problem.wait for the right moment then charge and knife him fast. Or let him come to you... He also has a knife, so watch out... you don’t want to get into a knife fight unless you are confident in your knifing skills. Watch out for a Grenade laucner shot, and clays. Which can both kill you in 1 hit, and again you can shoot from a higher level if needed
Recon vs. Guard-
Guards are invulnerable to knife. There lies a problem. Usually try to stay away from them unless they have low health. Guards can be very annoying with there shield... Use your MP5 and try to keep your distance. Shoot behind their shield (which can be a problem). Shoot from higher ground and watch out for nades. Or avoid them unless you are a confident recon.
Recon vs. Lancer-
Lancers are a prime target for a recon, they have no powerful close range attack and no melee. So just sneak up and knife. Usually a 1 hit KO. Problem solved.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
A5. Recon in Deathmatch-
In a Deathmatch, use your cloak to your atvantage. Sneak up on Your enemy and knife them, MP5 from a distance. And try to stay away from heavies or guards. Anything else is a target. Watch out for other recons with knifes and heavy and assault melee.
A6.Recon in Team Deathmatch-
Unlike the other classes you don’t have to stick with your team with the recon, go out and look for light armored enemies and knife away. Kill and then return for a medic to heal any wounds you might have
A7. Recon in Capture the Flag-
Capture the flag is a Recon’s #1 mode. There speed and cloaking ability, that allows you to sneak behind the flag and wait for your teams ok, then steal and run home! Wait by the flag and let your run meter regain and your team to polish out members of the other team. And say RUN. Run home and cap a flag for your team!
A8.Recon in Assault-
Since both red, and blue teams have different objectives, there will be different strategies for each team.
Red Team- Recons are good for capturing the enemies base. But is not good for fighting heavies... If You see base with no heavy armored enemies in it. Go ahead and kill the enemies and take the base. If there heaviliy armored enemies in the base. Wait for team to nade them and steal it.
Blue Team-
The Recon is in my opinion not a very defensive Class. If you have to guard, Wait in or around the base. If a light armor class comes near knife them, and if a heavy or guard comes near get up in the base and start shooting them. Chances are if they are close they will melee you. But you can kill them, if you keep your distance!
A9.Recon In KotH
Recons can be very good for King Of The Hill, They Can Sit in the capture zone, and steal it stealthily. They can also be key for taking out light to medium armored enemies. Think of PT as a circle... Someone Heavies, Someone Lances to take out Heavy, And you the recon are here to kill the lancer.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________
A10.Recon key Tips-
Knife from the side.
Knife fast
Knife from the side
Against Groups-
Knife like crazy. Fast and efficiently. Or go to a higher level and MP5 people. Stay away from heavies and guards, and don’t knife hold...
Against individuals-
Knife them from the side and not up slopes. Make sure that you don’t hold and watch out for heavies and guards.
On Different heights-
Use your MP5. But DO NOT knife up slopes (AKA Stairs) it is not reliable.
