This Thread (http://www.pawngame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117707) grabbed my attention to a map making issue. That issue is in regards to background settings.

There are many, many backgrounds for maps (from night to jungle to underwater). Unfortunately, as they are not labeled, it makes it difficult to view each background in accordance to your map.

Here is what I propose:

1). Blank should create an extra tab (like a pop-up that you click on to expand) that has all the backgrounds CLEARLY LABELED. Ie; Night, Jungle, Underwater.

2). Once you select a background, it would show up ON THE MAP MAKING TEMPLATE. That way, you could view your whole map, as it would appear in game, from the comfort and safety of the map editor itself.

I believe that (2) is the more improtant, but both ideas complement each other quite nicely.

I believe the Map Editor was put in grid form and purpose, and free of background just to be able to see the tiles. If anything we need in the Map Editor, it's complete tile sets, and Foreground labels on Urban crates.

This idea would not hinder the map makers ability to see their map clearly. After all, they could always switch back to "No Background"

Viewing the background while in map editor wouldnt really help much.

As of right now, I know what background are what numbers, but when I was newer to map making, it annoyed me to have to keep guessing.
I like the first idea, maybe have the numbers by what they are off to the side, instead of a tab.

The viewing background thing, I this that this (http://www.pawngame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111331&highlight=making) would be a much better way to go about testing while in map editor.

I think that the first idea would help some map makers who don't know which background is which chose there background.

For number 2, I think that it would annoy me alot cause I wont be able to see some of the tiles that I am trying to place.
