View Full Version : An opportunity for a law suit I passed up

I was at a buffet, the Golden Corral, and I was eating bourbon chicken with some steak sauce on it, and I had eaten like 7 pieces of it, there are about the size of my pinky finger, when I bit off a half of one and saw that it was practically completely un cooked.
I didn't really notice the taste of it being raw, I never had raw chicken, and it wasn't supposed to be hot, room temp storing.

So basically, I consumed both raw chicken AND alcohol, me being 16, they were scared of a law suit.

I don't really think I would have the heart to sue a restaurant owner for a cooks mistake though, not to mention my family is poor and any lawyer we could afford their corporate lawyers would destroy.

If it was an honest mistake don't sue them. If they just didnt care and served the food like that, then I think you should sue them.

I'm not just a doctor. I'm a lawyer as well. I'll take the case for free.

Did you read the title... or the thread... or ... anything before posting?

You said you passed the opportunity, no?
I'm glad you didn't do it, I'm sure they didn't mean to cook it raw...
Then again..

I'm sure they would have searched for a settlement before ever letting this come close to trial.

Corporations do have big lawyers, but they'd rather pay you off than risk losing big money in court.

And gain bad reputation.

I would have suggested you throw the food back at the cashier and yell about it in a load voice, but letting it go is a good idea too.

You should have made them pay you a couple thouand dollars right there so you would keep quiet.

I don't think they did it on purpose. Can you imagine being a chef in a hectic kitchen?

Hope you're ok from the raw chicken. But wouldn't they have blamed the chef/cook for this, and not the restaurant itself?

You could quite technically sue the manager, the chain owner, the cook, and the person who stocks the buffet, that has LITERALLY happened and succeeded for some unknown, stupid, USA-ish reason.

Strict liability clause. That's what I think makes it possible to sue.

You probably could have sued for a good chunk of money and won.

1.) Pretend your sick.

2.) Sue the cook.

3.) win the lawsuit.

4.) Get rich, no more poor family.

Considering you will die in the next, oh i'd say about 17-38.5 minutes of raw meat consumption, it wont even matter in you sue them. Cuz all the money will go to your parents.
