So yeah, minding my own business, not doing much. Kinda bored. So I decide to start a thread about how an armed conflict between the US and Russia would go. I was hoping to have an intelligent conversation about the possibilities and have intellectual debates over why a certain aspect would blah blah blah and what not. So I post a thread. And I wait. In less than three minutes the thing is gone. So I'm kinda wondering "wtf?"
What's wrong w/ what I posted? Is there some unwritten rule about not talking about hypothetical scenarios involving two or more world powers? Or is there a rule that forbids intelligent conversation in general? Because it sure beats reading about the dumb stuff that usually floats around general discussion.
This all happened about 2 1/2 maybe 3 hours ago. Can I get an explanation or something, because no one said anything and I don't even know who offed it.

Russia found it inadequate to have a thread up regarding imminent defeat.

This is exactly why we need a "Real World Issues" forum.
Either way, not really sure why it got deleted.

Real world issues? That's new to me... Oh well.
I wish I could post w/out bumping >.>
Blank is Russian.
no he isn't. He's canadian.
On topic: Don't know who did it, but that is not cool. :(
On issue: I don't believe much would happen. If you are talking about a ground conflict, russia would win by sheer numbers. We could win air/naval conflict thoiugh. As for a nuclear conflict, Nash's Equilibrium will never be contridicted. No nukes will ever be fired, unless an improbable "Dr. Strangelove" incident occurs, which it won't.

On-Topic: no word yet from any officials...
On-Issue: it may be true that Russia has a greater amount of active duty soldiers, but America has a greater overall population which means a larger amount of fit for duty persons who could be drafted if one was activated.
Personally, I think the selective service act is outdated. It was protested when we had it in the past, but I think this time would be worse. As much as I dislike Obama trying to control everything, I don't even see him doing something like that. He is too worried about PR.
Conincidence (or maybe not), but know who else was worried about PR? Hitler. He was also socialist.

That reminded me of...

Neither pics are what I was looking for, but they caught my eye.

I won't even flip Godwin's law this time around[Hitler (or the Nazis) supported X, therefore X must be evil/undesirable/bad], but Obama really isn't left or liberal enough to really be a full out socialist. He is actually quite moderate by European standards and is at best a democratic socialist.
Here, read this article.

The author of this article is himself a true, self confirmed socialist.
Many of the people that attacked Obama with verbal attacks and labeling him as a socialist(cough, McCain and Huckabee) they're idiots. They have not idea what the institutions and principles of socialism are, and they should not pretend to be scholars on the topic.
