This is a forum based around a zombie theme, but its actually primarily about general disaster survival. Anyways, there is a firearms section and in that section is a stickied topic where people post pictures of their firearms.
People are posting some cool stuff there. People are posting their assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, sniper rifles, and all sorts of stuff.
On page 2 there is a guy with a Beretta .50 cal.
On page 38 there is a guy named TR0N who has an M4 carbine with a mounted grenade launcher and red-dot sights.
And of course there are plenty of Ak-47s.

And before anyone thinks of it, this is NOT illegal. None of the guns here are illegal to have. Not the Beretta .50 cal, not the M4 with a grenade launcher.All of it is legal. So please don't suggest that any of this breaks the law.

The 2nd Amendment is there so we can defend ourselves in case the government couldn't/wouldn't protect us (Which btw, is their only job. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT to provide anything other than protection from dangers such as crazy foreigners and the abuse of our natural rights.)
And just because a person likes guns and thinks America is great doesn't mean they are a hick. It makes them a well prepared patriot. Aren't you late for the daily socialist broadcast or something?

I don't live in America or a socialist country. I'm just saying that there isn't much point in having a grenade launcher if the only thing your going to use it for is to keep mexicans and arabs off your lawn.

Who wouldn't want universal healthcare or nationalization of schools?
And, grenade launcher,...pft. If you want to defend yourself from terrorists I think a pistol is the most powerful weapon that you would need.

People who don't want to wait four months to be seen by a doctor. Imagine breaking an arm. You'd have to wait several weeks to be seen, and by then your body would be healing it, regardless of whether it's in the correct position or not. Then the doctor would have to break it again so he/she could line it up correctly and let it heal again. And that's just broken bones...
I'm pretty sure anything done to our already broken education system would just make it worse.

They shouldn't have goofed off when they were younger and then got a poor paying job or no job at all. If you work hard then you can enjoy things such as 40K surgeries for yourself/family or afford the insurance for it.

What if I'm born into a poor family that can barely survive off what it has? Education is the best way that people can change their predicament, but in order to do that you know what it requires? A fat stack of $$$...
If I am unable to go to a good school, or get a good job, I will never be able to do those things.
The fact that everyone has equal opportunities is an outright lie. If I am born into a rich, upper class family, my odds of making it in this world is many times more likely than being born into a poor family.

We were saying to put ourselves in the shoes of the writer(s) of the constitution. And then we talked about the 2nd Amendment, and WHY they've would've included it.
Our conclusion: To protect ourselves from the British Empire and any other invaders at the time and/or in the future.

People shouldn't be making babies if they can't afford to take care of them. Boo hoo for the kids in that situation. Grow up. And you don't need an education from Harvard or Oxford to be successful. Be realistic. You can study at the worst high school in the poorest ghetto but if you study properly and your grades are high enough you can get enough scholarships to go almost anywhere. Especially if you're black (srsly, not even a joke.) People at my school do it all the time. And even if you don't get enough scholarships for a "superawesome I'm gonna make a bajillion dollars when I finish" school you can go to a two year tech school and learn a trade, which leads to a decent living in which you can pretty much afford the essentials, assuming you don't blow it on _____ (fill in the blank, some examples include rims for your car, megawesome stereo, other things people buy when they could be bettering their lives to where they can buy them later and still be financially sound.)

Scholarships??? Really? You are well aware that colleges are never that liberal with those. Banking all your efforts and resources on the fact that you may just get lucky will get you no where.

It's not about luck. It's your blood, sweat, tears, and pure hard work that gets you scholarships. That and race. In fact, you can get money to go to school for just about anything. Being left handed, being able to perform odd tricks, being Native American, name it and it's likely to be a scholarship opportunity. But most of them are about being smart and hard-working, which is also what many schools look for in applicants. Your financial background doesn't matter as much as it did back in the day. I know of people who live in the deepest part of the ghetto who have houses that are falling apart, neighbors who might kill you because of the way you looked at them or are dressed and might not be able to eat if their mother didn't work three jobs who are going on to great schools next fall (that might be exaggerated, but it helps gives an idea on what is possible.) Stop relying on the government. srsly, it's pathetic and not even their job, yet they do it anyway...

Well, that would definitely work if only the colleges actually were more liberal with scholarships...
They can't pass out scholarships left and right like that, they are a capitalist enterprise. Every time they do that they lose money.

Like who? Businesses and all corporate groups are all capitalist enterprises, when ever they do this they lose money. They can't just hand out a scholarship to every poor student who can't afford an education.

They usually just give it to a small handful if not just one or two hard-working individuals, and there's always a return in an investment like that. The students usually enter their field of study working for the business that payed for their school. And successful individuals enter the market as consumers, meaning the business's goods or services would be purchased.

It is farking epic. One of the guys on there named TR0N has videos on youtube of himself and his friends using it in the deserts nearby.
EDIT: And btw, the Right to Bear Arms is so that we can overthrow our own government if it ever went bad. The founding fathers experienced how easy it is for any government to go bad and turn dictator, communist, or otherwise bad. Even the one they had just created. They understood that the only way to bring freedom into a dictatorial government is by overthrowing it and they experienced how difficult it is too do that when weapons are restricted.
It has nothing to do with hunting, otherwise they would only allow hunting rifles. It has nothing to do with robbers and muggers, otherwise they would only allow handguns and maybe shotguns and SMGs. It has nothing to do with protecting against foreign invaders, there is already a military for that.
Its about making sure that the public civilians are capable of keeping the government in check.

Guns over .50 caliber are considered destructive devices and therefor illegal. Fully automatic rifles are also illegal, any fully automatic rifle you see is illegal unless it has been converted to semiautomatic. Grenade launchers are not illegal to own, explosive and other lethal types of grenades are illegal to own as they are a destructive device. Hand grenades of the lethal variety are also illegal. Cannons are illegal because they fall under the category of guns over .50 caliber. Mortars are not illegal as they are not guns, mortar shells fall under the same laws that govern the explosive grenades. Explosive bullets under .50 caliber are illegal and classified as a destructive device. Shot guns over a certain length are all legal. Shot guns under a certain length (to increase spread) are destructive devices. Rocket and RPG launchers are illegal as they facilitate the delivery of destructive devices. Hollow point rounds may or may not be described as destructive devices, they are outlawed in some countries and a war crime.
