The difference between the Untethered and Tethered jailbreaks is that the Tethered one came out earlier with some flaws. You can't shut it off. :[

The untethered came out like a month later, no problems with it.

Yeah, the appstore is still on your iPod. Jailbreaking automatically gives you Cydia and Installer. Both of them allow you to download cool packages for the iPod.

It's called redsn0w as a joke because the jailbreak dev called the iPhones jailbreak "YellowSn0w"

Remember to download "Winterboard" from Cydia once you jailbreak.
