And yes I have restored it to factory settings.

Macintosh format, ipod version 1.1.2(newest) iPod classic 80 gb

Trying to put Pineapple express onto my ipod, it won't go, worked fine before this. First time I tried to add it, there was a pop up saying something like "could not sync because other applications where found on this iPod"(I don't have any...) THEN restored all, clean sweep of the ipod, removed all music and videos. Tried again to put pineapple express on, and ONLY that movie(unchecked all other music/videos) and the pop up shown above appears.

I have tried several times, restarting ipod, unplugging, holding MENU and middle button, RESTORE on itunes and restoring to factory settings, and changing between disc mode and not... nothing seems to be helping

I'd take a look at that, maybe try some of the solutions you haven't already tried.

Damaged files

If one of your music files or photos is damaged, iTunes may display one of these errors when transferring that file to the iPod. If you identify a file that is causing the error, try deleting that file and reimporting it from a backup file or from the original source. You may be able to repair files by repairing the disk (see the solutions in the next section).
Unregistered .dll files (Windows)

Malware or other software may cause an issue with the digital signing of Windows XP drivers. First try restoring the iPod using the latest version of iTunes.. If you are unable to restore it or the symptom reappears, follow the steps in this document.
Only one it might be, there where some songs that don't play on my ipod(that do play on my puter).

I bought the movie several moments before attempting to sync my ipod. Can it really be corrupt?...

.m4v is a format developed exclusively for the iPod; it is the equivalent of an .mp4, so there is no need to convert it.

And the fact that you downloaded it from iTunes means you don't need to convert it.

The only thing I can think of that we could try is a complete reinstallation of all iTunes related software.

I don't know what installs on a Mac, but on a PC, I would remove all of the following:

> iTunes
> Quicktime
> Bonjour
> Apple Mobile Device Support
> Apple Software Update

And then redownload and install iTunes and try to sync again.
