Mine does as well from time to time... I have wireless so I just hit the reset button on the transmitter. I haven't figured out how to prevent it from happening but it doesn't occur very often so it doesn't bother me much.

Please elaborate.

When this happened to me I contacted the people that I bought my comp from and they fixed it.

What you can try is to allow pop-ups from pawngame.

Moved to appropriate section.

Contact your ISP, and virus/malware scan your computer.

Unplug your modem (and router if you have one) leave them unplugged over night will will completely reset your modem, if this doesnt solve your issue you will need to contact your ISP.

About the worst case scenario is that you're being throttled by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). They do that sometimes...Contact them as soon as possible.

What is the name of your internet company?

Also, does it shut down when you are on pawn, or anywhere in general?

I had that happen to me as well, sometimes its a simple as the cable might be busted, or the end of the cable is busted just saying what it might be.
Thats what happend to my computer.

What ISP are you using? Also your internet connection and what your using to connect to the internet?

Heck it might just be your sound card chip or your comp might be defective in some way inside your desktop.

Heres one solution:
-Take it to a repair shop
-Buy a New Comp (Get a Custom one for under 2k)
-Or just try to reinstall some drivers off the internet

Good Luck! :D

Happened to me all the time when I had wireless internet.

You can get a better router and reciever, or just buy a 20 dollar cable and get a direct conenction.

I'd just get a cable :)

He is not using wireless internet though.

It could very well be malware related, and as it's something that we can directly help you with, let's give it a go. Contacting your ISP and whatnot is things you have to do, but we can help with this.

Step 1 - MalwareBytes Anti-Malware

Download Malware Bytes Anti-Malware. http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
Install Malware Bytes Anti-Malware.
After installing MBAM, run it. Go the UPDATE, and select CHECK FOR UPDATES. It is CRUCIAL you do this BEFORE scanning.
After updating, proceed to the Scan tab and select the full scan option. Run the scan.
Let the scan run it's course - it may take a while. Once done, make sure to have it REMOVE everything that it detects.
Once the scan is completed, a notepad document will open up with the log of that scan. Copy and paste the contents in your next post please, and do not put it in a code box.

Step 2 - HiJackThis Log
HiJackThis is going to give us an in-depth look at your system, and it'll help us in making the decision that your system is clean, or if it still has some infections.

After downloading HJT, double click on it to run the program.
Select, 'Do A System Scan and Save A Logfile.'
Once completed, a notepad document should open up. Copy and paste the contents of that document into your next post.

It's a virus obviously. I am just saying, when that happens, does a green or blue screen show before it shuts down, and when you try to turn it back on? If so, then a virus is within your presences.

It is your settings, click the little wireless connections button in bottom right, click "network and sharing center"

Im not sure what you do after that, its probably in internet options.

My sis's does that every single day
