Scroll Wheel or Numbers?

I heard that people use Numbers to change there weapons, but i use the scroll wheel.

What do you use?

scroll wheeel is waaaaaaay easier for me. the only thing i like about it is that sometimes ill scroll and attempt to not overshoot and i wont scroll enough and ill stay on gun when i need to change to knife

Since it is virtually impossible to use the touch-pad scroll key to change weapons properly, I go with the number keys.


Since I use the W,A,S,D keys to move, I just have to use my left index or middle finger to press the different numbers. Rather easy in my opinion.

I use the nubmers fr strategy in clan wars. Like if I had a gun, and I wanted a grenade reall quicly. Instead of scrolling. I jsut press and fire.

Same here and i always keep my hand on the WASD its just easier for me and when i scroll i always mess up.. Numbers are alot easier for me besides when i do mauler and have to reach to the 4 for recons.

bcause i have a mac, i cant use the scroll weel. HOWEVER, the numbers r still very effective and i still have enough time to switch weapons so its all good. =P

I dno't have a middle finger on my left hand so I tend to use the scroll wheel. Damned hard to melee too.

Well it depends. For laptop it would be to much a hassle to use the numbers. The scroll wheel is best friend. If you can get use to and and do it fast on a desk top the number keys would be way to go! Much more accurate when choosing your weapons. The scroll wheel you just have to know your mouse well.

numbers as it takes so less time to change as I've plaid gunz and igunz which req pretty fast finger movement. For example commonly used things

Jump » Slash » Block » Slash » Block » (Dash) » Slash » Block
1 button >> mouse 1 >> shift >> mouse 1 >> a,s,d or w twice >> mouse 1 >> shift and that's done pretty fast (beat is around 368 pressing per second)

Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Switch to sword » Jump » Dash
space >> a,s,d or w twice >> mouse 1 >> button 2 or 3 >> button 1 >> space >> a,s,d or w twice also this is done in about 0,5s

conclusion: switching weapon from buttons are accurate and takes around 1/20s to change

I use the scroll wheel for the most part, except for when I am on a lap-top, in which I use the numbers. I like the scroll wheel, because with classes (esecially recon) where you need to change weapons, keep moving, and be able to kill someone fast, it would take to long to try and hit numbers. I love it with recon, because I can be gunning one second, and kniving someone the next!

i use lappytop, and i think that numbers is way faster and easier to use. ive killed many a player without their melee weapon as recon because it took to long to change with the scroll wheel...

Numbers, cuz that's the only way to switch to the weapon you want instantly. The time difference between scrolling to your melee and hitting 3 or 4 can make the difference between a dead you or a dead enemy.
