I need a new virus protection cause my free norton i got with new computer is pritty much expired and i kinda hated norton.
So im wondering what you think is the one worth while getting in the long term. I don't really want some random crap i haven't heard of.
Also please explain why it''s better and so on cause im not very smart in the tech department.

For a firewall, go with COMODO Internet Security. Its the best free firewall in the security business.

It's probably your settings on it then.

Check what it allows and what it doesn't

Currently downloading Avast.

Cheers SketchZ!

I used McAfee a while ago, around a year or so.

It was pretty good, but unless you want a really ultra, uber, insanely reliable AV, you gotta pay.

Avast! or AVG Free are my epic wins.

No one is reading what i posted...

Mcafee is fail, AVG is EPIC FAIL!!!

Look at the link. These products claim to secure your computer. If so, they should ace the test shown.

Avira is the best, and I don't care what atirox link says, when it comes to free anti viruses.

If he wants to throw out reports, then check this out:
http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stories/test/ondret/avc_report21.pdf

Far more thorough and extensive. Those of you who wish to see results without reading, go to page 9 and look at the graph.
