Well, I recently downloaded the Windows 7 RC, and am now dual booting it with XP on a separate partition.

I have to say, Windows 7 is very impressive. I was skeptical on how it would run on my system, but with only 1 GB of ram it runs even better than XP does. It's also a hell of lot more visually appealing, and comes with, of course, new features and the like.

Those of you who want to dual boot as well, I found a VERY easy and simple guide that walks you through it. You just need to download the RC via Microsoft and get your key.

I did this in XP fairly easily, and those of you who use Vista, it's even easier as Vista has a built in Partitioning Tool. Those of of you who don't have DVD's to burn (or are unable to) there is a simple alternative. Download the RC and extract it's contents. In the extracted folder, there will be a setup.exe. Disable your antivirus and run the Setup file. Your installation should take no more than 30 minutes after that.

I thought about downloading it.

But then I didn't.

If I ever get my netbook I will prolly get it.

I've heard games run better on it because it utilizes your processor to do 3d renderings.

Download like the hl2 demo and post what you get in xp and w7 :O

W7 RC Performance > Vista > XP

Your games will run better, if for no other reason than the massive strides in performance - provided they don't run the crapware known as PunkBuster. Even Balance refuses to make PunkBuster fully compatible with Windows 7 RC, as a result only some of those games will work.

Same here, I will download it. Seems useful, and nothing just to download to have. I think that I can actually make some use from this Windows 7 RC.

Now they just need to work on compression, lol make windows a smaller package and then WIN D: (as in it will put the "win" back in windows; well not really cause there are still way to many security flaws ( but then again apple's flaws are starting to show *cough* YAY LINUX *cough* >.>))

Security through being ignored != more secure.

Same here, I will download it. Seems useful, and nothing just to download to have. I think that I can actually make some use from this Windows 7 RC.

You remind me of someone I dislike. I just can't quite place my finger on it..

Do you have an nVidia graphics card?

It seems like a lot of people are having trouble installing Windows 7 with nVidia graphics cards.
