Obama on gun laws??

Does anyone know what Obama is gonna do about gun laws? I remember hearing that hes gonna pass some sort of assault weapons ban. I also understand that loads of people are scared out of their minds that Obama is gonna remove the 2nd amendment or something and are buying guns like crazy. The owner of my local shooting range says that gun sales have gone up by 300% since Obama got elected and ammo sales have gone up by 500%.

I'll be really disappointed if when I come of age I wont be allowed to buy that Glock:(

Even if he does, they will still be on ebay for months unless ebay does a large range removals, otherwise it would be difficult to full remove gun sales from the internet.

The government is scared of assault weapons such as the AR15.
The will outlaw them and make it illegal, which is why gun sales are going up.
If they out law assault rifles they will be illegal buying and riots.

Obama may have dumb views but he isn't stupid. He won't touch gun control issues right now, he'll deal with the economy(or try to). The NRA is extremely well organized. The second amendment won't be changed for a while.

I think it might be another Prohibition, except with guns.

People are going to find their ways of getting their hands on them, and I think more people will be breaking the law because of the ban than without.

He can if he really wants to. People are so worked up and supporting him that a good deal of people would probably support him if he made America a communist state.

And the point and purpose of the 2nd amendment right to bear arms is so that the public will be able to overthrow the government if ever need be. The founding fathers knew that just like any other government, the United States could end up going bad if its power were given to the wrong person. They knew that when a government goes bad, often the only way to change it is through armed rebellion (such as the British empire in the American colonies). And if the American government ever did go bad and need to be overthrown, the civilians need to be able to have guns to do it.

America was the first country ever made that essentially said "If this government ever goes bad, the citizens reserve the right to an armed rebellion".
